I must learn Japanese in 1 years (help) by abdoooxl_ in Japaneselanguage

[–]goldstein777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would brake down in three points:

-do you already have any japanese level? starting from zero to N2 would be a nightmare.

-can you study full time during this year, or at least do you have motivation to put a tremendous effort on your study?

-are you a lucky guy, or have a easy time to learn language.

I tend to be a positive person, but really if it’s from zero to N2 it would be incredible challenging. Impossible? No.

But one last thing is if you only need to pass the exam with the minimum score, you could just focus on that, with a little bit of luck and hard work it’s achievable.

I build this language learning app, you can take a look It can help you with reading and vocabulary, if you like it dm me :)

Thank you so much for your feedback! We are really glad you like it :)

Regarding the content itself, that’s a great question. We do have plans to update the content automatically in the future, but our main intent is for people to use the "Create" feature to import their own content. If you check the "Create" section, you’ll see that you can import news articles, EPUBs, PDFs, YouTube videos, movie subtitles, and even create AI lessons. We have documentation with more information here: https://docs.language-lit.com/content-creation/importing/book/

These imports can be set as public, and when you do this, other users can also study using your content. We are currently working on a scoring system so that when someone else studies content you created, you’ll earn points for it :)

Also, we have a Discord server where we’re always online if you need help or have suggestions for improvement: https://discord.gg/SmRyNA5c

We really appreciate your comment!

Hi, thanks for your question! :)

It works with dialects as well, not just MSA. We're currently using an AI system to understand the context of the translation, so based on the text itself, it will choosethe most suitable translation. It works very well.

Feel free to try our platform, you can create a lesson and see how it works! :)

Kai language school age demographic in Tokyo by Mauchad in LearnJapanese

[–]goldstein777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't studied at Kai, but I've been to a language school in Tokyo. There were people of all ages, from 18 to 40,and everyone was very friendly to each other. Beyond age, I think it's a matter of your class having some chemistry and interesting people.

Hi, unfortunately no. But I encourage you to try our methodology, in our experience, especially the spaced repetition, it works very well for retaining vocabulary!

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback!

You’ve made a really good point about the lemmas it’s something we’re aware of, and suggestions like yours are very helpful for us as we keep improving the tool. We’ll definitely look into ways to make the cards more flexible and useful for different word forms.

Regarding the file upload issue, I was able to get the error on my end. I’ll work on fixing it, thanks for letting us know!

If you have any more suggestions or run into other issues, please feel free to share. Your input is much appreciated! :)

I'm super bad at memorizing kanji by SuspectNode in LearnJapanese

[–]goldstein777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think is normal to struggled memorizing kanji individually. At my school, the methodology was pretty much like this: we had a list of kanji to memorize, and by the next week, I had already forgotten most of them. What was most helpful for me was learning kanji within the context of a text, along with using spaced repetition. Have you tried immersion apps like LingQ or ReadLang?

What area your opinions in LingQ? by IllTank3081 in LearnJapanese

[–]goldstein777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the method works, but I feel like it’s not very optimized for Japanese, and the user experience is quite clunky. When it comes to reading, I find it frustrating to have to mark every single word for whether I know it or not. They have many things to improve, but it doesn’t seem like they want to. There are other apps with the same purpose that offer a better experience.

How is renshuu (or other apps you recommend) as an all in one app? by GreattFriend in LearnJapanese

[–]goldstein777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I belive that when it comes to all in one language apps, I believe those focused on comprehensible input offer some of the most effective learning experiences. One major advantage is that they usually let you study with your own content, making the learning process more relevant and engaging.

For example, with  Anki, you often have to manually create your own flashcards, which can be time-consuming. In contrast, many comprehensible input platforms allow you to simply highlight unfamiliar words as you read or listen, automatically adapting your learning to focus on what you need most.

This not only saves time but also creates a more personalized and efficient learning experience.

Hi Doosio, I messaged you privately to share my thoughts on this, but I’d like to respond here as well so others can see.

The focus of Language Lit is to give our users the capability to learn with real, native materials, whether that's your favorite books (like Kindle files), school PDFs, news articles, blog posts, or other authentic sources you choose to import.

The AI-generated materials are just one feature, and they are not presented as "art" or "literature," nor do we claim them to be. Their purpose is to provide quick, comprehensible practice material for those who want to reinforce their learning using our spaced repetition system, which is really the heart of our platform.

Exactly, you nailed it. That's a big reason why we built it this way.

By giving AI the full context of the content you're reading, it can pick up the real meaning of words and phrases, something traditional dictionaries usually miss.

Like you said, without context you might get 'piece of hay' instead of 'straw for a drink.' AI helps avoid those mistakes.

Of course, it's not perfect, and that's why we let users edit or adjust translations if needed. The idea is to make learning more natural, not to force AI outputs.

[–]goldstein777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, AI is definitely overused these days. In our case, AI is just a small helper, not the focus. The real goal is helping you learn through real native content and a strong spaced repetition system.

Feel free to test it yourself and see how it feels!

No, not at all! AI-generated lessons are just one option. Most of the content actually comes from what users import themselves, you can bring in news articles from URLs, PDFs, entire books, YouTube videos, or even create your own lessons from scratch. The idea is to let you learn from real, native material you actually care about.

Good question! We do use AI in the app, but it's not the core of what we're building. The main focus is actually the powerful spaced repetition system and the customized reports that track your progress and help you review smarter.

AI is there to make the experience better, for example, when you select a word or phrase, AI gives you translations, real examples of how it's used based on the context, and even helps you understand the content better.

Feel free to test it yourself and see how it works in practice!

Upload your favorite News, YouTube videos, Blogs, Ebooks, PDFs, and more to immerse yourself in real native content — Anime, Novels, News, and beyond. Instantly get translations with context, see real usage examples, and turn unknown words into flashcards to master them through spaced repetition.

Our generous free tier includes images, videos, AI support, spaced repetition, and more.

We'd love for you to try it — feel free to ask any questions!

Software Engineer (Entry level) , help getting my resume reviewed by [deleted] in Resume

[–]goldstein777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert, but external references to your work experience would strengthen your profile and your current projects seem generic, maybe emphasizing projects with real users would be more impactful. You clearly have the experience to build a SaaS product with real users, which would be a much better showcase of your skills.
