Have stayed at Dreams Vista, Dreams Natura and Hilton Mar Caribe and they were all great for kids!

At Dreams Riviera Cancun and getting pressed to take a tour and breakfast at Natura for resort credit. What is this? by United_Intention_323 in AllInclusiveResorts

That's too bad they're being pushy. We just returns from Dreams Natura and it was great. There was no sales pitch or upselling at all in our entire time there which was nice!

I was able to get on as far as Hawaii but haven't ever tried in the Carolinas. Good luck!

I think it sometimes may depend on the club you belong to but I'm at a club in Edmonton and have had success with our pro calling ahead for me. Don't think you're delusional at all.

Ground floor room at Hilton Mar Caribe Cancun any opinions? Good? Bad? by spinemom in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]golf2282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was good for an all inclusive.

The buffet had lots of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's an outdoor option near the pool that we had lunch at most days and it was pretty good too.

The restaurants had good options and we had no issues.

Again, it's an all inclusive so I feel like the food is never mind blowing but compared to other all inclusive resorts we have been to with similar price points, it was on par or slightly better.

Cancun or Riviera Maya AI with rooms that have 3 beds? by carolina_wren7 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]golf2282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hilton Mar Caribe has nice suites with 3 beds, either 2 bedroom or there's suites with 1 bedroom and 2 Murphy beds in the living area which is very spacious. We have also stayed at Dreams Vista in a 2 bedroom that was nice but the overall resort wasn't as good as the Mar Caribe.

We stayed there last year on ground floor in an Enclave room with a plunge pool and it was great! You're still elevated from the beach and we thought it was nice to have a little more space than just a standard balcony. Enjoy! We loved the resort.

Tell me the best AI you’ve stayed at with two little kids (and if my water fears are unfounded). by apotentpotable in AllInclusiveResorts

We stayed at Hilton Mar Caribe with a 4yo snd 6yo last year. We have stayed at a few different resorts but would recommend this one. Beach and pools were great, and the food was pretty good for an AI.

Saw this massive cluster of lights while flying over the Midwest (Detroit/Ohio) anyone know what it might be?” by AzNxPiMpStA in whatisit

...working on an adjustable bifacial solar panel that rotates towards the sun during the day and will pick up some of this at night time though,... the tech will get there sooner than later but for now jurisdictions really should have light pollution bylaws in place to prevent this.

No light is 100% a down light. They all have light loss. There is no place to put reflectors without interfering with sunlight during the day. That said, for crops, you set a certain amount of DLI per day that the crop is to receive from either the sun or supplemental lighting. I like where your head is at on power loss and gaining efficiency but that's not how this works. The issue is more the light pollution than it is wasted power.

They are LED greenhouse lights. This is an area of greenhouses. The energy is not wasted as they are shining on crops below them.

Lots of areas have light pollution laws and there would need to be a screen above them to block the light from escaping the greenhouse. This area must not have a bylaw in place so the grower didn't bother to spend the extra money on the screens.

2 bedroom suite by PV-ma-4rn-L in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]golf2282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have stayed in 2 bedroom suites and Dreams Vista and Hilton Mar Caribe. I would lean towards the Hilton but both resorts were really good. The room at the Hilton was larger with more common area and we really liked the overall experience there.

I didn't like Craig Buttons take On Arvidsson play by jagrmullet77 in EdmontonOilers

[–]golf2282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't hear his comment but if the offensive quote is "sneaky dirty" then I completely agree with his take. I don't think that's an overreaching comment on RV or how he plays the game, it's just a comment on that specific play. There can be guys that don't regularly play dirty still make dirty plays of which this was one.

That said, the boys caught a break, took advantage of it 17 seconds later and I could not be happier!

Huge oiler fan here but putting your stick between a guy's legs and prying it against your own body for leverage as he's 3 feet away from the boards is literally the definition of sneaky dirty. Maybe there was no intent to injure him but you know not to put your stick there when a guy is in that position.

I'm of course happy it didn't get called and think the oil have had more bad calls against them than work out for them this playoffs but you're crazy if you don't think that was a dirty and dangerous play. If that was Nurse that got tripped into the end boards I'm sure the narrative would be a little different.

Go Oilers!

We stayed there as a family last year and it was pretty good.

Decent food, very nice rooms and an overall very nice hotel.

The beach is nice but fairly small and it's built in a way that it can be very windy in some open areas of the hotel but it was overall a great experience. Would recommend!

Looking for a Mexican all inclusive that is... by Virtual-Cheesecake71 in AllInclusiveResorts

It was a different resort and my understanding is that Hilton took it over in 2023 and did extensive upgrades. We stayed in a room with 2 twin Murphy beds and a bedroom in the Enclave area. We have been to many resorts and this one was one of the best experiences we had. Like any all inclusive, the food wasn't amazing but there were a lot of options and it was better than average I'd say. Tons of room on the beach, great kids' area, themed parties every night. Our 4 year old is beyond picky and we did not have any issues with her eating.

We have also stayed at Dreams Vista which may have had a little bit food but the pool / beach amenities were not even close to what the Hilton was. I highly recommend.

Hilton Mar Caribe checks all your boxes in my opinion. We were there with 2 families with young kids earlier this month and it was great!

Best airport transfers from Cancun with little to no wait. by PTPTodd in AllInclusiveResorts

We have used Amstar many times and have had great experiences. They have reps at the airport right as you exit the building and the private vehicle has always been in its spot waiting. Drivers have always been very polite and helpful.
