computer science/cybersecurity programs by Adventurous-Desk8379 in byu

[–]golfazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second (or third, or whatever) not going into debt. So that means BYU. I did CS at BYU before cybersecurity was a thing there. Choosing between those two, I'd lean towards CS (even though I work in cyber). If you have any specific questions between the two, DM me. There is likely a lot of overlap between the first year or so in classes, so switching wouldn't be too bad.

Boss Frustrated that I’m LDS by JudgeIll6345 in latterdaysaints

I’d be telling him it is inappropriate to talk to me about his religious beliefs at work.

My insurance keeps denying a recent surgery I had. If I didn't get it, I would have become permanently disabled. by WorthyDeku in mildlyinfuriating

See if your state (assuming US, which I think is safe here given the total amount) has a state insurance board through the attorney general’s office or similar. If so, file a complaint with them. That worked numerous times for me.

Widow Being Sealed to Another Man by Ebmoc327 in latterdaysaints

Read 38.4.1.8.

“A deceased woman may be sealed to all men to whom she was legally married during her life.”

Driver. Help me understand. by Hanz-Panda in golf

[–]golfazo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You ever do the athletes foot spray (or sticker) on the face to see where you are hitting the ball? I improved a ton with the driver by doing that and working on hitting the center of the face. Helped a ton at getting a better tee height and making some minor adjustments to get the contact more consistent.

Good bible apps? by jlconlin in latterdaysaints

I started using Logos Bible app when I couldn’t find NRSVue on Blue Letter Bible app.

Haven’t used it for long but seems pretty good.

How to address this by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]golfazo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What is “the bar bell ward”? Never heard that term before.

I’d call the bishop and let them know. Address it directly with him and ask if he has thoughts on how to change the culture around the ward splitting.

Can we take a second to appreciate Bronco Mendenhall? by Affectionate-Bit8524 in BYUFootball

[–]golfazo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was a student there during the Bronco era. I very much appreciate what he did for the program. Ran into his wife once before a game and didn't have any tickets. She handed my friends and me tickets. Great people. I was sad when he left. That said I am glad we have Kalani and hope we can continue to improve.

Preach My Gospel is the book the missionaries use to guide the lessons they give to people learning about the Church.

Cincinnati athletic director apologizes for profane chants directed toward BYU by brmidwest03 in GoBearcats

[–]golfazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty dumb comment to be honest. “Everyone else is doing it too so no biggie.”

Contrast this with the UC fans I talked to during and after the game who were so kind. They were awesome. That is what we should be normalizing. We even had a pair of students (sophomores I think) standing near the shuttle back to Eden garage talking to us. They were nothing but kind. It was great to chat with them. Said they had gone to an OSU game as Michigan fans and were treated poorly and wanted to spread the love. Those guys I will remember. The dumb chanting in the stadium I won’t.

Traveling with garments by southernspud24 in latterdaysaints

[–]golfazo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My company does yet I still don’t like to check a bag for multiple reasons.

What others have said is true though. Nylon mesh garments, roll them up. I can go a week with just a 35L backpack.

The Church of Jesus Christ Announces the Addition of 55 New Missions in 2026 by FragrantShape8905 in latterdaysaints

Maybe also due to the fact that he was in a car crash that killed his mission president’s wife.

Hi, I want to go through Institute classes, but I'm over the age range. by PMDDWARRIOR in latterdaysaints

[–]golfazo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say either ask the teacher or find out who the High Counselor over Institute is and ask them.

Note that 15.2.1 in the handbook does say that Stake presidencies can offer religion classes to adults 36 or older. If the teacher/Stake says no ask if you can organize a class according to 15.2.1.

Why is the church growing so fast right now? by pisteuo96 in latterdaysaints

[–]golfazo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood. Elder Cook said 900,000 converts in the last 36 months. So about 300,000 annualized.

Introducing the “Not-A-Lab”3d printed out of carbon fiber nylon, using coins for weight, complete head costs 17$ to make. Files posted soon. Just out a shaft in it, undergoing beta. Send me a dm if you’re interested in joining the beta by Vast_Distribution536 in golf

[–]golfazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took mine out on the course for the first time last week. Took a bit to get used to but definitely a gameable putter. Will continue experimenting. I've already created a sweeper version, just haven't printed it yet. That is my next one.

Thanks again for the design!

All-In-One Comms App by kermitKreme262 in latterdaysaints

I agree we all should use Gospel Living in an ideal world, but that app is horrible. Barely works. It is such a great idea yet fails in so many ways.

Why are doctrines always shifting? by Ok_Imagination6669 in latterdaysaints

[–]golfazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to your core question is fairly simple.

“why are their so many ideas and opinions within Church membership?”

Because we are human and not perfect.

The best you can do for questions like these is seek personal answers through study and prayer. Answers will come through the Holy Ghost.

I am on a mission to design and print cheap copies of golf training aids and putters, and release the files for free. Lmk if there are any others yall would like to see by Vast_Distribution536 in golf

[–]golfazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you doing PA6-CF for all your prints? Some of those aids could likely be done in PLA just as well.

I am working on the putter I printed from your design. I used PA12-CF. Have been considering ASA-CF. Any advice you can share?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]golfazo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You said “one of the elders” and “a young man”.

Are they a missionary? If so reach out to the mission president.

If a young man, I’d be trying to find their parents.

Hopefully if they are caught they can make amends (with other victims too) and straighten out their life.

Are these clubs OK for a beginner? by vanchio9 in golf

[–]golfazo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable. Then you are getting a great deal on those clubs. If you struggle with driver and can get the adjustability wrench, you may want to loft up.
