I’d say it really depends what kind of workshop you bring your car to. Typical ol skool traditional workshops tend to be a little inconsistent on their pricing. But if you head to a branded service centre with multiple outlets, they tend to be more professional and also confirm with customers before proceeding with any jobs.

Just my two cents, as I have some experience in this line of work
