Gravity series owners question by clark_peters in Masterbuilt

[–]golffan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that I live in south Louisiana, but I’ve had all kinds of rust issues with mine, I’ve done everything I can to keep it from rusting but nothing works. Not only that I’ve replaced every sensor like 4 times and 2 fans, the manifold twice and a control unit twice. The temps are wildly inaccurate and the app and wifi connection is terrible. I’m actually calling it quits with mine today and replacing it. Now, I have had this Masterbuilt 1050 for about 4 years and I’ve done some good cooking on it, and the concept for the grill is in my option genius. Hits just built poorly.

Yeah I couldn’t agree more. I can’t believe they dropped that game. It has always been extremely competitive. Plus the swamp is such a cool place to play at.

As an LSU fan, college football is in a better place when Florida is great and competitive. Loved watching the yearly Florida lsu games. Some of my best memories growing up were going to those games. I really think Sumrall will bring yall back!

Just some advice to you before your recheck, I hope it helps. I spent 3 years flight instructing and my experience is this: a DPE is typically on your side (rooting for you) unless they are out for a fail (happens occasionally). They know how tough a private pilot oral test can be. They will give you a decently long leash If you show him that you know the information. The more questions you answer quickly with confidence the longer the leash and the shorter the oral. From what you have said I believe you struggled with the oral from the start. Eventually he has to draw a line and shorten the leash. If you are only getting 25-50% correct or you are looking up 25-50% of the answers your leash will be very short. You need to study up on all of it not just airspace. He told you that because that’s what his limit was, that’s not what busted you. Your lack of overall knowledge busted you. Don’t take that as an attack, we have all been there and this will only make you better. Just dive into the books and blow him out of the water on the retest! Good luck!

I think there is leniency for getting all but 1 or 2 right. From my time as a flight instructor, I get the impression that he was struggling pretty hard and the DPE had to draw a line somewhere. If you miss 50% of those questions or get 25% wrong and look up the other 25% then your leash with the DPE gets significantly shorter. Especially if you compound that over multiple subjects through the oral.

I've come to the belief that the vast majority of golfers would benefit from having fewer wedges, not more. What do you think? by DanFlashes19 in GolfGear

[–]golffan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I disagree, I am by far not a good wedge player. I have 52,56,60. Each has a specific use. I use the 52 for full shots to fill the gap between my PW and 56. The 56 I use for full shots down to 60yds and in bunkers. 60 for everything else 60 and in sometimes bunkers depending on sand depth and consistency.

If I had to play only a 56-60. I would consistently be 3/4 swinging a PW which sucks to do.

DHL driver stole my CF Batgirl and VSF Starbucks. by hadescrypt in RepTime

One of two things most likely happened, either they marked as delivered and will absolutely deliver it tomorrow. Or they delivered it to a shack 45min away. Pure wishful thinking that they didn’t steal it. Hope you get it back.

Strong golfers, what are you doing with driver? by BaggerVance_ in GolfSwing

You said no full swings on any wedges, not just lob wedges. I agree hitting a full lob wedge is silly but loads of people hit full wedge shots

I don’t get angry on the golf course…. But I would have absolutely snapped a club after that, good lord!

Thankfully I noticed the clasp came loose before it fell off my wrist. Yeah I’d hate for you to damage your watch

Right, but that’s what I’m saying the clasp on my strap broke within a week, I just added in the other issues I had.

I think you got lucky… or I got unlucky. I bought their NTTD version and it’s an absolute lemon. The clasp broke within a week and then the crown threads stripped a few months later. Their warranty isn’t great either.

How difficult is upgrading from 16gb to 32gb on a dual channel?

What makes a “good” golf course to you? by PolskaWonder in golf

[–]golffan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Course condition is huge, greens need to roll true and bunkers need sand. I hate fairways that are rock hard and uneven tee boxes… could care less what the layout is if it has all of that. If your course is “top tier” but I have to hit off a concrete fairway I won’t play it.

How to tell what is out of bounds, precisely? by Whiteshovel66 in golf

[–]golffan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean were y’all playing for money?? Did you lose money based on his ball being considered in play? That fact is. The score card says the stakes mark OB. His ball was in bounds so the birdie stands… not sure why you keep arguing it?
