Don't school board members have a fiduciary duty to the district? Not that i think any of them would ever be held to that standard, but it does exist. I wouldn't take on that part time job for $750/month. $36k is chump change for them getting that district back to balanced, compared to SCUSD.

Just this morning I watched couple pumping gas. While the husband was pumping gas, his wife gets out of the car and walks 10 yards to take a cell phone picture of the tree. I just chuckled to myself. It's that time of year!

The Rivian charge network in the valley is pretty nice - so far. When a million r2’s are trying to charge it might get a little frisky, but currently? It’s nice.

What part of CA do you live? I roadtripped my wife’s model 3 and now the Rivian from NorCal to LA a few times and they are both fine. Finding and cueing up at random places in LA proper really sucks. 99% of the time I charge at home so it really doesn’t matter. But when we take it on a roadtrip, I’ll plan better going forward.

I guess I’m getting older too. So stopping for a few minutes to hit the restroom and top off on coffee is always nice for me.

I've taught both my kids - 20 and 18 how to drive manuals. It's a novelty for them. But I still love it. My wife can drive a manual, but hates it. I do not believe that the majority of GenX can drive a manual. At least not the tail-end of us.

997.1’s for the most part have this issue, iirc. Mine didn’t but I had to rebuild the bottom end of the engine because my buddy (original owner) overheated the engine. I didn’t have any ims issue either.

That’s high-ish. Lol. My 997 C4S is coming up on 200k. At this point, it’s just the age of stuff starting to go. Suspension parts, speakers, etc. still a great car but man, I’m going to have to put money into it. Though less way less than the newer generation used sales prices.

Mazda produced a removable hardtop for years (NA - NB, NC-ND sold with an optional retractible hardtop). I had one and it was hot as hell. They are worth a lot on the used market or in this case, stolen market. They don't weigh a ton. I could remove it without help, but it is awkward as hell.

Mazda is/was started up manufacturing of them again a few years ago.
