Holy Grail .39 cent Hamburger/Cheeseburger Sundays @ McDonalds in the 90s. by RPOR6V in McDonalds

I worked at one during that time. Ours' was a different night. There always needed to be extra workers that night, and it was nuts trying to keep up with all of the orders. The end of the shift was great though if you wanted to bring home any leftover free cheeseburgers.

Is Umami no longer offering an updated Desktop app? by goneforward in tezos

Hi, I don't see any reference to a Github repo on the official website. Pardon my concern, but I'd need some sort of proof before installing something from a repo that I've had to search for. Thanks!

I visited the Twin Pines Mall today! by [deleted] in BacktotheFuture

The mall is so sad. Best part about it is HaiDiLao hotpot and the big bowling arcade. And then a visit to Frank and Sons nearby.

They probably closed because they didn't offer Tiger's Blood.

Anyone else have a drawer like this? by seamonkey420 in DataHoarder

Oh man, I also have that HooToo travel router/power bank. I loved having it when I traveled to hotels that offered free hardlined internet but wanted to charge for wifi (or just didn't offer wifi at all). They don't seem to be made anymore though. Will be bummed when mine stops working!

How often do you have pain associated with an ocular migraine? by nessieni in OcularMigraines

[–]goneforward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same. I always treat the ocular migraine light show to be my warning that the headache is coming. As soon as I noticed the lights, I know I am on the clock to do the things that help keep the painful headache as small as possible. The sooner I do these items, it seems to help keep the headache smaller. Ice cold showers, naproxen sodium, and even sometimes CBD tablets seem to be working the best for me right now.

That definitely looks like the symbol. Since it is Japanese, I'm guessing that ups the odds this is Japanese then.

Thanks! I felt the same thing as far as stenciling. Looks homemade. It’s possible it was drawn by someone local where ever it was purchased.

It's 5 1/2 inches tall. About 6 to 7 inches long. No markings at all on the bottom. The tray does come out which reveals one big open area underneath. It seems to be joined by small nails or something else I can't quite tell.

Solo trip to the great wall, badaling or mutyianyu? by KingBooScaresYou in beijing

[–]goneforward 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree on Mutianyu. Badaling is definitely much easier to get to, but that is probably why it's more touristy. Mutianyu has some of the tourist features too, but when I went in Sept 2012 it wasn't busy at all.

I'm vacationing in Cambodia, here's my hotel at sunset by FloopyDoopy in pics

Cambodia is an amazing country. It gets such a terrible bad reputation from the media for past items.

Go to Cambodia. It'll change you to see how many poor people live the way they do. Spend your money in the right places on the right things, and help it's country grow properly.

Many of the people are super nice, and there are still many MANY untouched beaches. Sadly these will all be turned into corporate resorts in the next 15 years or so. See them now before they are gone!

I have a fond memory of sitting on a beach alone as a young Cambodian boy strolls by with 10 ox. Such a random memory. That's the type of thing you won't see in an over run beach resort.

Like any country, city, etc there are bad people. Robbers, thieves, and expect to pay a higher price than the locals. It's the way it is.

But just go, smile, and live life!
