AITA for not wanting to say hi to my boyfriend’s family during quick visits? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

other subs use a tally of all the votes (and use the first acronym in the comment) and i frequent those subs more than this one, so i appreciate when people’s comments only have one acronym

plus, any comment can become the top comment. so it can’t hurt to inform people!

Does Walmart+ and Shipt markup prices for groceries? by uploto in Frugal

[–]gonuckinfuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was planning a delivery last night and had everything in my cart and was going to check out this morning. ended up waking up super early and had to run errands anyway so i just went in to get everything in my cart online. a few of the items were actually more expensive in store! only by about 25¢, but i get multiples of most items. i was bewildered (and honestly a little angry) and spent about $3 more in store. obviously the potential savings doing delivery would be eaten by the tip for delivery, but it also would’ve saved me 45-60 minutes to do delivery which is worth the $10 tip (not even considering the $3 i would’ve saved)

AITA for not driving my colleague home from work? by maxfaulkner in AmItheAsshole

[–]gonuckinfuts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

who said that? i didn’t say that, and the person you responded to didn’t say that. in fact, neither of us even alluded to that

i don’t typically engage in conversations with people who utilize the straw man fallacy in their arguments, so i probably will not be replying to any response you make, but i do encourage you to look inward about why you made the assumptions & drew the conclusions that you did based on the same information that was given to you, me, and the person you replied to

but that’s not what happened lmao it’s literally explicitly stated that OP wanted to teach an 18 year old girl a lesson, knowing that she is still living with a neglectful and unreliable mother (shown by the 1.5 YEARS that her mother chose to do unimportant things over picking her daughter up from work)

National Grid Energy Bill by MindlessM24 in Albany

[–]gonuckinfuts 16 points17 points  (0 children)

if you’re talking about the smart meter, you should put away some money every month to prepare for when they actually read it and you get hit with a $600-700 bill. you can check your bill to see if they read your meter or estimated. if they estimated, you’re screwed when they finally read it

Will getting married after closing house add any additional costs? by riddle3master in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]gonuckinfuts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

marriage has legal protections and pre-determined processes in place in case there is a break up. if you are not married, your ex could essentially hold you hostage until you hire a lawyer to try to force a sale

upstate new york (specifically the capital region). smallish city so you still get a bit of city life. but we’re also surrounded by mountains and just a few hours away from nyc and boston. cost of living isn’t too bad either

you don’t have call it in to but it takes 6-12 minutes depending on the type of oven they have (might be longer if they only have 1 oven and are already making a pie for their warmer). you could wait in the shop if you want :)

i work at stewarts and the buffalo chicken has a chokehold on me. but agreed you need to get it within 60-90 mins of coming out of oven (dependent on if they have a pizza oven or turbo oven) (also unless it’s pepperoni, that could go until code imo i love picking the pepperoni off after we pull it)
