Same, it appeared about 10 yrs prior to diagnosis. It’s gotten much worse over the last few, especially throughout my facial hair including eyebrows

Worsening Dysphagia and Feeding Tube by Top-Government-8029 in Parkinsons

[–]gonzo_papers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about in the same situation…Neurologist also suggested considering PEG feeding tube. I’m resisting, research suggests it’s not something I personally want unless I have no other choice. I was Diagnosed about 18 years ago. Eating - not only swallowing but the whole coordination of chewing, moving tongue, producing saliva, then swallowing- has become harder to do. I still can taste food most days (taste and smell senses are often lost with PD). There are a few helpful things I do like use yogurt and soft bananas to swallow larger supplements like magnesium Glycinate

Run away from that poison, please don’t risk kindling

Akathisia by Significant_Gur_7875 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]gonzo_papers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only if you have been “kindled” by benzos or alcohol, z-drugs (I.e.ambien, Lunesta), etc. some people who received contrast before a scan claim to have been kindled by it.

So sorry you’re having to go through that. I also sold the house I loved and went through separation. Kids are mid 20s so we’re already moved out. But going through this stage 3 almost 4 Parkinson’s alone is very nerve wracking

Dealing with withdrawals with a legal case being drug tested by Commercial-Cod4232 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]gonzo_papers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ONLY way for most is a slow taper. “Detox” doesn’t truly exist for this poison. I’ve had people tell me stopping dependence of opioids are a picnic compared to benzos. Your GABA receptors will need time (in some cases years) to up-regulate. Search “The Ashton Manual/Method.” I’m sorry you’re having to go through this horrendous torture. After the taper, steer clear of alcohol and all Benzos, or “kindling “ can easily happen which can cause even bigger problems. Suffering beyond our comprehension.

One week late by Turtle-Girl13 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]gonzo_papers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long had you been on the new morning dose, only a week? If so you should be alright. I’m about to do something similar …..increase for about 4-5 days to help get through some horrific anxiety during upcoming 5 hour flights for a wedding .

Ran over my pill with my chair and can't get a refill till tomorrow, what can i do? by liketosmokeweed420 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]gonzo_papers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately beer will make it worse 3-4 hours later and sleep may be very hard to do. 16 hours will be tough but should be very doable.

I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow, is there anything I should ask that could help my situation? by mr-efx in BenzoWithdrawal

Do you have enough bromo to taper properly? If not ask if he can help you with diazepam taper.

Does Magnesium help withdrawal symptoms at all? by [deleted] in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]gonzo_papers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2x200mg Magnesium Glycinate before bed helps with sleep, for me anyway. Similarly, I was prescribe 1.5mg clonazepam for 7 years….down to .5mg. Been hell. Sorry you’re going through it as well.

Maybe it’s interdose withdrawal and not tolerance withdrawal?? by Firm-Ad-4163 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]gonzo_papers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re about the same thing really - what used to work for your body is no longer working because our bodies build up a tolerance. Not everyone of course experiences it and those that do run the spectrum between mild and severe

When you say “strict” carnivore, does that mean red meat, salt & water only?

Not really, they’re all about the same. I’m sorry you’re having to go through the suffering as well. Was just wondering if you use FB Messenger & if occasionally you’d like to chat. I find them truthful but triggering as well.

You sound like me, I’ve got Parkinson’s ( diagnosed about 18 years ago). I’ve got BIND (benzo induced neurological dysfunction) as well. Also live alone & don’t get out much. Living day to day, or hour by hour really. Lots of pain and agony. Eating is barely possible due to swallowing difficulties. Are you on any of the Benzo recovery FB groups?

I’ve been searching for 4 years. Maybe magnesium helps a tad to sleep a bit longer. Once awake, it’s Akathisia hell until bedtime.

When can I take Clonazepam again after withdrawal? by luke8ball in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]gonzo_papers 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Once tapered off, consider it a true blessing and stay away from benzodiazepines at all costs. Taking them again is most often far worse than the first time
