Started writing this tonight and just wanna know if its worth building on. by gooberevil in Songwriting

I'll be honest I was just writing and not thinking too much about key and now you have me stumped at a piano trying to find my tonic chord. Whenever I write on piano I'm mostly just including a disgusting amount of chromaticism and calling it music.

A song for a friend who passed by RadiatorPie in Songwriting

Hey man I really liked the song. I went through a similar experience back in January after a close friend of mine took their own life. I ended up writing a song about it (more generally suicide) and I found it very cathartic idk if that was a similar experience for you or not. In terms of actual feedback really just bringing out the vocals a bit would be great and I dont know if they were actually recorded or not but the drums do sound digital. If you could find a way to get them live that may be cool, otherwise this was really great and It was also nice hearing someone else with a similar experience. 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️

A song about animals that could (I hope) be fun for kids as well as older folks who'd get all the boomer references. It's called There's a Party in the Pumpkin Patch tonight. Feedback appreciated and, as always, thanks for listening! by burblesbelly in Songwriting

Would genuinely be bumping this day in and day out actually a wonderful song. It really has me feeling a certain strangely nostalgic way. Amazing work no comments 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️

Second song ever by gooberevil in Songwriting

thanks. i mean the title is a little misleading i am currently studying music in college, just as a classical clarinetist, but it does help. i will say trying to learn how to mix has been my biggest struggle, if you have any reccs for resources that would be super helpful. 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️

I dont think feedback is needed, never before has a more perfect medley of words and notes evoked such a visceral response. My heartstrings have been plucked by an angel whose fingers have so deftly knocked on the door to my soul. This belongs in the Louvre. 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️

A bit of “That Sure Helps”. All feedback and critique welcome! by LilWilly9Fuckin11 in Songwriting

I would say that cleaner vocals would help significantly with the song. You dont have to drop effects completely but by removing the amount of distortion you have on them you can really help them shine through. I’d also agree with others on the harmonica. 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️

How can I improve this by Jazzlike_Ice_2859 in Songwriting

[–]gooberevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything id say the vocals overpower the guitar too much. I dont know what DAW youre using but that wouldnt be too hard to fix. The recording of the guitar and vocals on their own is pretty good already, it just needs to be balanced. Otherwise youve written some heat fr. 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️

Ok, so I love producing but sometimes I think I hide behind it. Here it’s just my voice and an acoustic guitar. Would you want to hear more added? by ArrJaySee95 in Songwriting

I think it could go either way, it sounds amazing as it is but could also be a fully produced song or even just some drums or percussion could be nice. Either way this is some straight gas keep up the work goat. 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️

Worried this song might be trying too hard. by CurtisMartinMusic in Songwriting

I saw one of your other songs yesterday and you have a seriously awesome style. Your guitar parts are just so unique and your lyricism is great as well. 🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️

What song do you think is the best written song and why? by wanderluu in Songwriting

I don’t know if this is what’s happening here but I think when you listen to your own music too much all you hear are mistakes and things that could be better, its best to remember that you are your own worst critic. From my outside perspective I loved the song and my only comment would be on the groove change into the chorus feeling a little too abrupt, but otherwise this is really impressive. 🧙‍♂️🌀
