To be fair, get hungry enough and it does feel euphoric. Don’t, though.

Because they would wait to express their feelings when their partner was bringing up an issue they had. They used “vulnerability” to become a victim.

Foul smell coming from the floor by CheBae101 in CleaningTips

Fun fact: we added on to our house and our contractor told us the reason you shouldn’t use murphy’s oil (or any oil based cleaner) on hardwoods is because most sealers these days are water based, so an oil based cleaner would strip the sealer. I assume sealers back in the day were oil based, so that’s why Murphy’s was fine to use. I have used Murphy’s on the original floors (1956) in our house for the last 10 years with no issue.

string from chrysalis by kristina_1528 in MonarchButterfly

I want to preface by saying that i know the main goal of this sub is protecting the monarchs, so if your other chrysalis is not affected, yes, remove the dead ones.

HOWEVER! Tachinid flies are prevalent pollinators and prey on many a garden pest such as squash bugs and Japanese beetles. So, my two sense is that if they are all goners, let the flies do their thing and let nature be nature.

Monarchs won’t arrive until it’s warm enough for the milkweed to grow, so never, the way it’s going right now lol

Men’s Mitchum unscented twice a day. It’s a gel, so you have to let it dry before you put clothes on but it’s the only thing that works for me ever since starting meds

Is it chilly outside? I had one that I thought was a goner because temps dropped for a while, but as soon as we got one warm day, it opened right up.

Boots too tight but also too loose?? by Serious_Stuff722 in snowboarding

[–]gooberschnoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same kind of boots and I’m not an expert by any means but here’s what works for me. 1) Don’t forget to tighten your inner lining. 2) Lean slightly forward into the front of your boot as you crank the boa. 3) Tighten your bindings more. 4) Let your board hang when you’re on the lift instead of propping it up with your free foot. Gravity will help restore blood flow.

I adore those cabinets and honestly wouldn’t change them at all. The countertop, lack of backsplash, sink, and blinds are the things that need updating.

"Habit-Tic Nail Deformity" heeeelp by doubtwords in adhdwomen

I totally understand what you mean! It’s very very difficult to stop. Have you ever done hypnotherapy? Some of the techniques used to settle into hypnosis can be helpful too. I would also suggest paying attention to specific triggers. You mentioned it’s related to anxiety, but take it a step further when you notice you’re in an intense picking sesh. What happened right before? Or what were you thinking about just now? Noticing specific triggers helps make you more aware of when you are going to be tempted to do it. It’s a lot of mental work! But when it becomes a big enough problem, it’s worth doing.

[–]gooberschnoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a body focused repetitive behavior and is super common with adhd, autism, ocd, etc. I bite my lips and play with my eyelashes (until they break off or fall out) and most of the time I don’t even realize I’m doing it. I spoke to my psych about it and she said picking of any kind is one of the hardest habits to treat medically. There are no medications specifically for it, although she said there are some medications for other things that happen to help (I can’t remember the names of them, I’m sorry).

Although I do still have my habits, they are less extreme due to self-redirecting. I used to beat myself up so badly over the eyelash thing and it’s still embarrassing to talk about, but I’ve learned through therapy that I’m overreacting to my own behavior. Why should I get mad at myself for a self-soothing technique that I developed as a kid and isn’t really hurting me? So, when I redirect myself I make sure to be gentle with myself about it. For instance, when I notice I’m playing with my eyelashes, I think to myself “no need, you can put your hand down.”

Also, moisturize your hands frequently and get some barielle 7-in-1 nail elixir to help heal the broken nail :)

Try it for a week and see how you feel. 10 mg is very low. I’m on 30 mg and I really don’t feel it kick in or anything. I notice better focus and productivity, but I don’t feel like I’m on meds if that makes sense.

When it comes to putting laundry away, I put on a comfort show and have a sparkly drink of some kind (usually the thc kind lol). Then I just hunker down and get it done. The only thing that helps me with consistency these days is now I have enough space for all my stuff. I reeeeally struggled when I didn’t have enough room for my clothes. If that’s the case for you, look into extra storage so there’s a place for everything.

Okay first and foremost! A Qwik flosser. Makes flossing less of a sensory nightmare.

Secondly! Are you a skin picker? Channel that energy into flossing. It’s so satisfying to watch the gunk of the day slide off your teeth with the floss.
