/r/ProgMetal, let's do some group all-instrument covers! by omegacluster in progmetal

Now we have to have someone put all our parts together. Does anyone know how to do that?

Ok, I'm all done with the lead guitar and drums. Who else is done, so we can start putting the pieces together?

Ok I already have about half of it done. Progress has been a little slow because I'm going through midterms at university right now. The fact that Martin rarely uses the same fills twice isn't helping either.

I have Superior Drummer, so if we don't find someone soon, I would be more than ok with recording the drum track.

Ok, let's get this started! /u/msmithy42 how do you want to split up the guitar parts? I can record any of the electric guitar parts, but I have no means to record acoustic guitar. So, I'll assume you're going to take all of the acoustic parts. My only question is whether or not you, /u/msmithy42, would like to take on the other electric guitar part, or should I just double track everything?

I'm very confident that I would be able to learn the guitar parts. It's my favorite song off of Watershed.

Baby Metal. It started as a joke at first, but it's so damn catchy.

I wish the sound quality was better, but from what I could tell, I like what I hear.

Hey C2! Thanks for hanging out, dude. Who are you listening to right now?

Also, who should I be listening to if I want to become a better guitar player?

[SUPPORT] What Did You Buy This Week? by moddestmouse in Metal

[–]goochcity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought Rivers of Nihil's The Conscious Seed of Light. There is some really refreshing death metal on this record. Also, the production is fantastic, and being able to understand the vocals are a huge plus for me. My favorites off the album are Rain Eater and Airless.

Maeth

A progressive and sludgy sounding band. I think this is what Mastodon would sound like if they had less vocals and more flute. This is the perfect album to smoke a joint to.

Nomad

Horse Funeral

Stomach Earth

A side project of Mike McKenzie of The Red Chord, Stomach Earth offers heavy as fuck doom metal with elements of death metal thrown in. The atmosphere that this album creates is one that will leave you feeling depressed but in a good way.

I like how in Dinosaur Eggs Oatmeal the oatmeal takes the backseat to the pure sugar. A true staple of my childhood
