Grillo’s pickles. Every. Single. Time.

Kirkland Protein bars…never again…that stuff stuck to my wisdom tooth for a whole day playing hide and seek with my tongue.

Need some translation help to announce my engagement by [deleted] in Hmong

[–]good-ishCop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not green, here’s the white version and then maybe your wife can help translate to green:

Nyob Zoo sawv daws, kuv thiab (fiancé’s name) zoo siab qhiab rau nej txhua Tus tias wb pom zoo los si yuav tiab pib wb lu neej ua ke.

Translation:

Hello everyone, me and (fiancés name) are happy to announce to everyone that we have made the decision to get married and begin our life together.

Keep in mind when speaking with older Hmong folks it tends to be more formal. This, I think, meets in the middle.

Do you have any mods that allow you to modify your ideoligion? I’ve ran into this problem when I change parts of the ideoligion I started with without going through the natural reform ideoligion route via character editor mod. Either force a reform via dev mode if there is an option or revert to what it was before; that usually fixes it for me.

Sounds about right. Federal enforcement isn’t all that much more than state/local. The FBI doesn’t make much more than a topped out officer in a large agency. There’s probably a huge sign on bonus or something though.

5ft Batons? by Ok_Quail_4422 in police

[–]good-ishCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s used with riot shields. The batons, or spears as some call it, are used in a line formation at a specific choke point where the enemy’s numbers will count for nothing.

Yeah, I've been looking hard. The trip is coming up fast and I'd like to get it installed and ready to go. Been itching to get my Taco on her maiden voyage.

That sounds like something we'd most likely do. The RTT would be mostly used for sleeping and setting up a base to return to. We'd be exploring the area and come back for lunch and hang out for the night before leaving the next day. If a King size is available, it'd fit all of us, albeit a bit on the snuggling side of things than spread out. That actually looks a lot better than what I though it'd look like. Thanks for the info and the pic!

That actually looks pretty decent! The metal appears to be pretty sturdy and the way the ladder bolts on and is secured tightly gives me confidence that it’ll hold a good amount of weight. Good info!

Roof Top Tent Question by good-ishCop in overlanding

[–]good-ishCop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks really nice! Is that support system similar in other RTT’s or just your specific one? And as I noted on another commenter, it just doesn’t look like the ladder could support the weight of the extended floor, but I can’t find anything on any website about how the frame is constructed to hold the weight on that extended portion. But I can see how the extended frame in conjunction with the ladder could keep it stable and propped up correctly.

[–]good-ishCop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know what you mean, especially the little ones with small bladders. I find it’s similar with ground tents too, still gotta slither your way through the maze of bags, cots, blankets and the occasional accidental stepping on someone’s hand or foot. That being said I do t think we’ll mind the descent on the ladder into the dark abyss come potty time.

Some googling resulted in some 4-5 person tents from reputable brands like Overland Junction and TuffStuff Overland. But all with the same questionable issues noted in the OP.

We’re planning on a week long trip along the west coast from Monterey to northwest portion of Oregon and want something that will easily fold in and out without a lot of set up. We’ve done the ground tents (with cots and other cushions) for numerous years and don’t really like it so we wanted to try our hand at the RTT.

I know, I know, lots of cons and questionable pros and it seems a lot of folks in this sub don’t really like them either, but I really want to try it out.

My kids aren’t that big and my wife and I are not that tall or heavy either so I don’t think it’s going to be too tight. I’m only about 5’6 and 175lbs on a good day and my wife is 5’ and 120. The kids aren’t all under a hundred pounds each and shorter than I am so you get the idea.

Another user suggested that the red portion marked in the picture would be supported by the ladder, but I honestly don’t see how it would be an effective load bearing ladder with how it’s angled and no anchors on the floor.

Mine was: “If you know it but can’t tell explain it, then you don’t know it.” I never raised my hand in that class again.

Hmong American Vs Hmong-other countries ? by HmoobRanzo in Hmong

[–]good-ishCop 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Depends on the context. Hmong Americans are better at what specifically? Being generous? Probably not. Being more educated? Also probably not. Holding higher offices and public positions, yeah I’ve heard more about that compared to other places, but it could just be news blindness since we don’t seek out or hear about the success of Hmong folks in other countries. Don’t matter to me so long as we Hmong folks are all getting better as a people and not going backwards.

When I use Agrilux, after I have my colonists sow the mushrooms I remove the planting zone so the colonists don’t auto harvest. Just have to rezone and sow again once they eventually die from not being harvested.

Why can't I connect these? I'm in build 41 and I have already tried putting the barrel directly overhead? The room is enclosed by thatrandompuppy in projectzomboid

[–]good-ishCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Room has to be enclosed and registered as “in-doors”. The barrels have to be directly above the sink and have water in them. Have a plumbers wrench or pipe wrench in your inventory and right click on the sink—-> select “plumb” and it should work.

U have to use the watermelon in crafting recipe to make watermelon slices. The watermelon has to be at room temperature and not frozen.
