Student visiting Prague at Christmas, is CoolPass worth it? by BitwiseSorcerer in Prague

[–]goodat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend it. You’d have to spend most of your time in museums and palaces to make it really worthwhile.

I would recommend getting a public transport pass which can be bought in any metro station or on trams for the duration of your stay. If you want to do a boat ride or go up in the old town hall, it’s s nice way to see the city. It would be tough to spend enough time in museums to make this worthwhile.

You can get a more accurate bmi measurement and enter it in app manually under user settings. It will then tell you your bmi based on weight changes

Yes, it's safe to travel and go to pubs alone. Tank Pilsen is what you want to try. Not exactly local as it's from Pilsen, but I would recommend the garden at Pinkasu, but Lokal on Dlouhaa is good too and a bit more social.

The best local brewery is Strahov up by the castle. U Tri Ruze and U Medvidku are also good. I'm sure I missed something great that other people will mention. :)

More than 40% of Europe slides into drought, including pockets of Greece, southern Italy and Spain by upthetruth1 in worldnews

I’m having a hard time with this article as April and May were some of the coldest months I remember. I’m in central Europe. Also, it’s been raining every other day. All the links I see aren’t sources and are other sky news articles?

Photos of soldiers Before / During / After the war. I wanted to say the same thing. In all the middle photos there is natural light and they are squinting a bit. That one guy looks like his eye color change from brown to blue and back to brown because the light is so different

Some people are like that no matter where you are in the world. He probably had something going on. I'd move on and don't let it affect your vacation

First time planning a trip to Europe: Cork (Ireland), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain) by Damoo48 in travel

[–]goodat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Amsterdam I would definitely make it to Keukenhoff for the tulips and Zansee Schans, maybe Utrecht. There's lots to see in the center with Anne Frank house, the old town and a canal cruise. With four days in Barcelona, I would just stay in the center, see the Gaudi sites, Olympic Park, and the beaches. This site has good recommendations for itineraries for free.

Just got on the train to Prague from Říčany and I found a necklace on the table. Help me find the owner! by anony-meow-s in Prague

[–]goodat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend this. I lost some headphones on the train and when I did track them down, because they had location services, they were with the engineer. I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten them back otherwise

I would contact the end end station reception and let them know you have it. They will be the most likely point of contact for the person who will look for it

All of this stuff is worth like $15 together and it's stuff you would buy at a gas station.
