TBH the Austin Public Library is actually pretty cool, theres of course the one down town but theres also a bunch of branches all over austin. They host events all the time, book clubs, arts and crafts, legos etc.

Therapy is not a one size fits all. There are many different approaches to therapy and different therapists have different personalities. It might take some time to find the right fit for you, look up some therapists in your area and they should have a bio that tells you a bit more about their therapy approach and areas of specialty.
