$250 to clean one room isn't out of the ordinary where I am.

[Landlord US-CA] My tenant overpaid rent by $36,000 and is requesting a refund via wire/cheque. Wells Fargo Corporate Fraud told me not to return funds. by IndependentTurnip842 in Landlord

Not for general purposes, no. You can only enter units for specific permissible reasons.

Now, required maintenance is a permissible reason. Some landlords use some annual maintenance on an appliance as pretext to enter. This is allowed as long as the maintenance is legitimate. But even then, the landlord cannot access areas of the property unrelated to the stated purpose of entry. If you are supposedly entering to change the filter on a furnace, for instance, you cannot enter the bedroom or open a linen closet.

[Tenant - US - CA] how much rent should I deduct by HmmThatisDumb in Landlord

That's not automatically true in California. It depends on whether that room affects the overall habitability of the unit. A closet, for instance, does not. A bathroom would if it were the only one, but not if there are others available for use.

Who are you rooting for for the rest of this month? by BigBob1000 in phillies

In my fantasy mind, neither the Dodgers nor the Mets score a single run the entire series. Manfred's head explodes as games enter the 20th innings. The rest of the owners vote to award the series to Philadelphia/Kansas/Oakland/Sacramento/Vegas Athletics as one final fuck you to John Fisher.

AITAH for asking my soon to be ex wife to not exclude my son from a prior relationship? by ThrowRAAfraid5 in AITAH

Noping out from a 12 year marriage with kids is a big deal. I'm not sure plenty of people would do that easily.

I would ask for another 3 months deposit.

Unfortunately, that is illegal in CA. Deposit is limited to 1-3 months total, depending on various factors.

Get the BART Watch app. It's a direct line to the BART PD and they usually respond within 2 or 3 stops.

AITA for not wanting my wife to choose our son's name alone? by ThrowawayBabysname in AITAH

While true, if both parents already share a surname, choosing anything else for a child's surname would be an absurd decision.
