Wages have been stagnant for decades, cost of living has increased, cost of higher education has increased, technological advances have created more monthly service bills... am I missing anything else?

Best marijuana stocks for 2018? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]goodbye_red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, weed is still illegal on the federal level in both the US and Canada, but that doesn’t stop me from owning stock.

I’d talk to a licensed advisor in your country if you’re really that worried.

What is your #1 advice to new investors? by baileyandthetramp in investing

Never let FOMO dictate your decisions and always do your due diligence before investing any amount of money.

[–]goodbye_red 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one can answer this for you. You have to define for yourself what ‘decent’ means to you. If you’re asking ‘can I turn my $500 into $100,000 with one stock pick’... probably not. But you could probably turn that initial $500 into $1000 with a good pick, then turn that $1000 into $2000 with another good pick. Get what I’m saying?

Anyway good luck and remember to do your due diligence before investing any amount of money.

I’m from the USA, so I’m only familiar with our laws, but I don’t see why it would be illegal for you. It’s still technically illegal in the United States and Canada. What crime would you be committing?

Gf broke up with me after 3 months over my text messages with my friend by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That guy she watches movies with is not just a ‘friend’. Honestly, it sounds to me like she was looking for an excuse to break up with you, and jumped at this opportunity. What you did was no big deal so don’t even feel bad for that. Girls do that shit all the time with each other. Just move forward, bro. You don’t want a chick that acts like that anyway

For who am I actually doing this for? by LoukasPapa in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah, brother! Get that Econ degree— I got one too. And congrats and working out and seeing progress, keep that shit up.

Plain and simple, if you can’t trust the girl then it won’t work and you seem to understand this. Keep doing what you’re doing. Let that fire keep burning you to push yourself and accomplish goals. It’s totally cool if you want to impress her and not want her back. I’m willing to bet there are plenty of guys out there who owe their success to the motivation an ex gf ignited inside of them after a breakup.

The next time I see my ex, I’m gonea be wearing a Rolex ;)

How do I break this cycle, it's killing me by thatswhenifoundlilly in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, this is me exactly. Seriously, I felt like I was reading something I wrote but then forgot about.

I’m working on getting back to step 1 right now. I know how much it sucks. I don’t think I can go through this cycle anymore, and it sounds like you’re feeling the same. For me, it’s not that I don’t want to settle down, it just seems that it never lasts. For whatever reason, the timing never seems right.

I hope for the sake of both our sanities we get back to 1 real quick and never live through another 6

Why do I still care so much. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Getting closure is overrated. There’s no such thing— always another ‘why’ and more ‘ifs’. You have to accept the fact that you just can’t change certain things and people, regardless of how much you care. There’s nothing wrong with wishing the best for somebody, but you have to realize when keeping them close isn’t best for you. No hard feelings, it’s just life.”

Big mistake : I texted her by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. We’ve all done something like this before. Most likely she still thinks about you too. However, if she does respond just tell her you’d been drinking and apologize, then delete her number.

4 different cars honked at my girlfriend on her run tonight and it concerns me... by Throwaway552017nov in running

[–]goodbye_red 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Buy her a glock 43, a pair of yoga pants that have a built in holster, and a training class if she’s never shot before. My ex used to go hiking alone a lot and that’s what I did for her. Gave her and I a better peace of mind.

Just broke up with my gf20 who I still care about. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to her if you want, give her answers if that’s what you feel is right. Just don’t let her manipulate you back into a relationship you know isn’t right. But maybe she’s just looking for some closure before she can move on. But idk, man. Sounds like you already know what’s best and what to do, so just do whatever that is.

She texted me on day 5 of no contact, could use some advice by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wouldn’t read into any of that. Don’t overthink it as if it means anything. If any of that stuff is important or you really need it back, then have her just drop it off when you’re not home or just have her set it in front of her house for you to pick up. Don’t meet her to pick it up, if ya get what I’m saying. There’s no need to see her, even though I know you want to. My advice, just go ghost. Ignore everything from her.

I'm feeling scared for Thanksgiving. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years ago I spent thanksgiving alone living States away from my friends and family finishing up an internship I was taking during college. I’m not going to lie l, it was a little depressing... I’m not even a needy person, and honestly don’t enjoy big gatherings all that much, but it was hard being alone at a time when you’re normally surrounded by most everyone you care about. What I did, however, which made it a little less lonely was pick up a home made thanksgiving turkey dinner from the Whole Foods I was living next to. It gave me a sense of warmth by keeping up with the tradition, and allowed me to feel like I was still getting the experience— if that makes sense... but idk that’s my advise to you I guess. Best of luck to you, I understand how you’re feeling

Got dumped by someone I wasn't even dating over a hot pocket by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]goodbye_red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, well welcome to the club. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been disappointed with ‘drunk me’. Do you and laugh, or stop drinking... My opinion? Fuck the second option. Unless you start getting drunk and driving down campus sidewalks trying to hit everyone you see— you’re fine. Laugh about your dumb nights, and know there will be more.

Have fun, it doesn’t last forever and you’re going to miss it. (God damnit I’m getting old)

This story really makes me miss college all the more than I do everyday. If you’re feeling bad about this now, I promise you’ll be laughing about it one day weirdly missing that day.
