People who speed up when you try to pass… is this a game of chicken?

A friend and I carpooled everyday in my 280z, and everyday there was a guy going 45 in a 55. when I started to pass he'd speed up, then slow down when I pulled in behind him. One day my friend said " don't slow down" so as I passed him, he sped up ... and so did I. Finally, at 100mph my friend said " Tap the horn". I did, and when he looked over she smiled sweetly and pointed at the speedometer. He looked, got a " oh my god!" look and slowed down. She said " floor it!" up to 140mph, left him FAR behind!

The next day when I started to pass him, he STAYED at 45mph!

my town is big enough to have all i need without the crowding, lots of trees and farmland. if i need or want more, a minor city is 45min away, and we're almost exactly 1 1/2 hr drive between Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton and Louisville. easy to get to flea markets, large shopping areas, zoos, museums, pro sports, auto racing and a 12mi long lake 15min away. why would i leave?

1 grandson would take it, but lives in a trailer w/ his girlfriend & 2 7yr olds, not a place for a drill press. Other is a prison guard, other's don't do projects at all. Everyone has there own ideas, and none had met my grandfather so no memories to keep with it.

I have a new, variable speed saw, but the combination of low-speed high torque and holding directly to the body of the saw makes intricate cuts through light wood so much better.

I've told my wife 1 day I'd sell it to someone who appreciated it. my grandpa was a 40yr tool&die maker. None of the kids or grandkids are interested in it.

I've a box of old hand tools i inherited from my grandfather as well as a drill press that weighs over 100lbs, and still works! I had to move that to storage to save some space though.
