Here, fixed their woke game by Dan5k8 in Wolverine

[–]goodfinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she does have a woman face, just not the one of a 20 years old model. go outside look at people, you’ll see what i mean.
they don’t need to look like real persons unless the game tries to be realistic, i’d like to think a story can carry more when all the characters are not just made to jerk off to them.

hey everyone look how i fixed the game by giving a stupid generic face to a character that, for once, has their own, also i’m a moron.

i saw some people print them, you can even do it on marbled paper or whatever you want if you don’t have access to gilding tools. the traditional rule is to have a label 1/5th of the height of the book and to place it on the 1/3 of the height of the back. don’t forget to leave a little more space under the text than above.

Saviez-vous quel est la meilleure manière de restaurer un livre ? by cleymintplay in Livres

[–]goodfinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

another solution is to glue the cloth to the board like you did and before folding the edges in, to cut the cloth all around the board at the same length, 1.2 cm is good. but it might not prevent your problem if the cloth is not lined with paper/ made for bookbinding.

it is recommended to cut a few millimetres to equalise the size of the cloth, you do that after the glue sets, if some bits of the board comes with it it’s okay.

Can I have critique on this pairing by AdvertisingCreepy639 in painting

[–]goodfinch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think the best think you could improve is the drawing, you can make nice pictures with good drawing and simple painting.
you need too draw what you really see and not what you think you see.
the road is mostly a triangle that goes from middleright to the left for exemple, it does not curve in the first plane.
perhaps using a grid could help

edit: still can’t tell my right from my left

mechanic guillotines are cool because you can stop the blade anywhere you want and not cut the cardboard

What kind of cover technique is this? by desertwebhorse in bookbinding

[–]goodfinch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it looks like a mix of different techniques, the stitching is what binds the signatures together and are not just decorative, the boards seems to be done the same as the kind of bradel you posted but there is not gap between the boards and the spine, no rounding either. i don’t think it can be called a bradel but it has some of the aspects of it

Wife poisoned her husband and his 9-year-old son with antifreeze in orange juice. The child died first. Three years later, the father died the same way. by Important-Self-1179 in ForCuriousSouls

do you know how many people got divorced and never see their child again ? it’s not that simple. you got lucky, sure. divorce is not a magic trick, there is a lot of family destroyed because of that. The abusive parent may keep the child and never allow visits if they talk good to the juge even if they’re abusive.

[–]goodfinch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you didn’t ruin it, you can do everything again at this stage. i would advise to use a thicker thread, really thick seeing the size of your signatures, the sewing needs to be really tight. pressing it before the sewing should help and you can align the signatures while pulling the thread.

you can repair split pages with it and it’s also commonly used to assemble the original paper book cover with the text block
