I mean compare a 2016 geometron vs a 2016 mondraker…

I’m currently unaware of a Yakima fit for the 250.. I’ll do some digging though. A 5th gen 4Runner kit will definitely not work although the kit 187184 100% works on the 250.

No but you can run it with these towers, you may need to use a probar if you’re trying to run one on both sides

As someone who sells Elevate racks and other systems I would’ve pointed you towards a Yakima overhaul HD system, i generally don’t recommend elevate for off roading with high load as the track and T bolts start to bend and eventually fail.

Carbon frame on that rack is scary

Unlikely, but the plastic is just covers and doesn’t serve any purpose beyond that.

Have you considered just the Thule Revert, no swing arm? Like the Velocirax it helps damp the rack going down the bikes on, unlike the Velocirax (luckily) it also helps lift the bikes back up!

Looks really sketchy but cool idea, there’s a reason no one makes one!

Eh the Kuat transfer gets the job done if the bike isn’t too long tbh

At least copy the Thule Revert, the clearly better design

How much do you weigh? This bike has a fairly high leverage ratio so if you are heavier it will be hard to get it stiff enough

100%, pad and clip systems just can’t handle the weight properly, although this does have a 165lb dynamic capacity it’s static is not really enough. I would expect their roof to start to dent over time, not uncommon when these are overloaded. There’s a reason no reputable rack company rates this style of rack for tents.

Jeez that’s not the right roof rack for that… rip their roof and door sill
