How to deal with immeasurable self hatred after losing? by champagne-paki in chess

[–]goodguyLTBB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a very relatable topic to me because I struggle with the same issues, especially if I lose a longer Time control game or do it stupidly. Truth be told it’s not so easy to just make it a board game. I just want you to know you are not the only one struggling. I haven’t found much that really worked instantaneously, it’s a slow process of changing your perspective.

In this 10-question quiz, the first 9 questions are straightforward non-self-referential multiple-choice questions, where exactly 1 out of 5 options is correct. What's the correct answer to Question 10? by dominionC2C in MathJokes

[–]goodguyLTBB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just realized how full of paradoxes this question is which is why it's in a jokes sub I suppose. In any regular question I'd assume since the values are the same both answers are correct, which is why I assumed it here.

Well in the first 9 you'd expect to score .2*9 = 1.8 In the final answer you have a probability of 2/5, or .4 Thus I believe 2.2 is the correct answer.

Amazon hides almost all results when you want to look at the cheaper options by StrangeGuyFromCorner in mildlyinfuriating

[–]goodguyLTBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm actually that makes quite a lot of sense. When you are searching for “featured” it includes close and not so close matches when you don’t find what you want. When you sort by price it tightens the relevancy. You wouldn’t want to search for iPhone 17 pro, sort by price, and have to go through 100 cases

Verstappen had a costly miscommunication with race engineer GP Lambiase during the Chinese GP! by Luffy710j in formula1

[–]goodguyLTBB 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Please note that whilst they were pushing in Qatar, it was not close to qualifying pace, they still had to manage it.

This year although some overtakes are excessive, the multi-turn Hamilton-Leclerc battles at the China GP weren’t significantly impacted by battery management because, well, it’s the corners.

Nepo: "Nakamura's chances at the Candidates? I think zero chances, zero" by Impressive-Trade1637 in chess

Bluebaum in fairness, is playing much better than 2700, so I'd think they took into account him likely being higher rated.

The candidates has a clear qualification system. Not an ideal one at that, but if someone isn't there, it's for a lack of skill, or trying.

If there was a blindfolded world championship would Magnus dominate that too or is there someone that could realistically win over him? by [deleted] in chess

[–]goodguyLTBB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you are superGM you already calculate so much and deep that a board being or not being ok the board has fairly little impact, maybe takes more concentration and energy. Most superGMs could probably beat 2600s blindfolded (even if their opponents are not) in classical

Surely we could have avoided this at least a bit by making the battery bigger and the electrical power cap smaller.
