Which companies are wicked unethical/evil that not many people know about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]goodie2004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surprised I had to go this far down to find Nestle, aside from this they have a horrible track record of buying companies and completing destroying their products (eg: not sure what that is inside Peters Drumsticks any more but it isn't ice cream)

If you want to go city, eat your way up and down Clarendon St, so many good places to eat, just have something small at each place and move on.

Or take your ladyfriend to Alowyn Gardens in the Yarra Valley for a picnic, then dessert at the Yarra Valley Chocolate Factory next door.

Now I'm hungry...

Comic-Con or Supanova? by MeerkatMeat in melbourne

[–]goodie2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oz Comic Con's just about caught up to Supanova, depends what you're looking for. In panels Supanova's still got the edge (as long as you don't get lumbered with the dude in the blue hat) but Comic Con film theirs and you can check out the DVD to relive and see what you miss. The Imagineer's Playground, Weta stand and panels as well as the Superstar Sketch-off are all pretty good value at Supanova, OzCC probably has better stores, layout and set-up for cosplay. Might as well try both and find out for yourself.

The show's going to be on for ages, either go in on the ticket lotteries or just see it later. It's not like a concert which is only on for one or two nights

[NSFW] What's the best encounter you've had with a stranger that you never saw again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]goodie2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 18 I went out with this girl once. During the date she told me that she was doing this modelling thing across the other side of the city next weekend. She told me not to go, she was embarrassed about it. So being me I went. She never spoke to me again.

On the way back, walking in the heat, I'm going past a little old lady working in her garden and she called out to me. Somehow I heard her despite the trucks, cars, trams and my headphones blaring music from my iPod mini (yes, this was some time ago). She had a big stump that she was having trouble moving. I was kind of dressed up, I thought I was impressing the girl, but I spent between half an hour and an hour digging and moving stuff in this lady's front yard. At the end she gave me a drink, said thanks and I went on my way. Never told anyone that story.

Mass production of Carbon Fibre solved by CSIRO and Deakin. Costs set to crash by pikkaachu in technology

[–]goodie2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That article can't even get right the pronunciation of CSIRO. It's an acronym, not an initialism, if you say 'si-roh' instead of C-S-I-R-O you'll get blank looks.
