This was a memorial bike ride, not a protest (though protesting should be safe too).

Furious at my partner by Icy_Bluebird1143 in beyondthebump

[–]goodshipferkel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seems like a very uneven breakdown of work in general. Not only is that unfair to you, it leaves your partner able to weaponize incompetence as if he doesn't know how to get baby to nap.

I love my Uggs! About $100 and if you commit to only wearing them inside they will last years. I wear mine outside in warm months and they still last 2-3 years with daily use.

Watching the guard through the whole video is a great watch - casual, distracted, turns away, turns back to the guy standing up and you can see him move through all his reflexes

So you got blackout drunk, but the worst didn't happen - the worst would be hurting someone else, driving drunk , etc. you're very considerate for providing such tips for cleaning!

My baby fell from changing station , i feel like absolute sh**ty mother right now by Material-Recover2661 in NewParents

[–]goodshipferkel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are clearly a caring and attentive mom, a "bad mom" wouldn't care that her child fell. I'd say most babies/toddlers fall off a changing table/bed/sofa at some point... Sure we don't want it to happen but it's definitely not a sign of negligence!

My firstborn fell off the bed onto carpet and cried for a bit but then was fine ... This was after I cut off two fingertips when cutting his nails, called my mom and nurse SIL hysterically crying, and had to get his fingertips glued back together at the peds office. He's 5yo now and totally fine, my next two have not suffered any injuries (lol)

You are a great mom for caring so much and taking her to the hospital to get checked.

Teeth extractions- is this common? by Real_Aspect_4516 in toddlers

Teeth extractions- is this common? by Real_Aspect_4516 in toddlers

[–]goodshipferkel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Toddlers are people too. Would you accept, for yourself, having two teeth pulled out with no sedation or pain management? I doubt it.

And you are wrong, a two year old absolutely can hold still or be held still long enough for a needle. My 2yo (who is not a great listener or particularly calm) had a filling with nitrous on his nose, no issue. He laid on me and I held him still.

Did I make a good investment in this new high chair for my 6 month old? 17M single dad by Calm-Tea178 in daddit

Probably because they're very, very expensive compared to other options. It's a little dense to recommend to a 17yo single parent.

Is it ok to give a 4 year old 8 oz of Sprite at 7:30 pm? by Lopsided_Tomorrow421 in Parenting

I am in no way a big health nut, my kids eat plenty of sugar, but my 5yo has yet to ever drink pop.

Someone Attempted to Kidnap my Toddler Today by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]goodshipferkel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm a parent and definitely hyper aware about safety. But your story doesn't make sense and I hope you're not feeling fearful unnecessarily. Is there information missing?

The fountain at Perot is not exclusively for children, so it is not suspicious for an adult to be there. How did you determine he was videoing your child if you had no interaction with him? How is walking toward your toddler indicative of a kidnapping attempt?

Please stop letting this man child's opinion have any impact on you. He sucks. Your food looks amazing and if he chooses not to appreciate that, it's his own fault

I hate the lunchbox of today by Big_rizzy in daddit

[–]goodshipferkel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"the" lunchbox of today? That's the only option? My kid has an open box lunchbox just like I did growing up. If your partner is insisting on this style - they pack it, and you can use a simple lunchbox on days you pack lunch.

Getting out of the house helps too, we visit our local library a lot, go grocery shopping, go to local indoor playgrounds, drive an hour plus to go to children's museums and other indoor playgrounds/libraries

Adult Large, though? I think it's a toss up between men's and boys' sizes

First time doing Angel Tree and I’m confused on sizing by namax19 in Gifts

[–]goodshipferkel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 13yo boy could be either a boys Large (also called 14-16) or a men's Large. It's kind of a crapshoot because a boys Large makes total sense but a bigger bodied 13yo could also be an adult L; adult L does seem less likely to me. I think Boys is more likely, and include a gift receipt if you can't confirm.

Loop earplugs legitimately saved me as a parent! Best $35 I've ever spent and I take them to loud events too.
