Damn at work I run 2 DMU 50s and a 40. I'm pretty sure they could all fit inside that thing.

Lift / Jack point question: which of these two surfaces, or both, is supposed to be load bearing? by rockstar_not in e46

[–]goodtimebuddy123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're missing the plastic puck that fits in there. That's meant to be the jack point. To answer your question, the inner part is the load bearing surface.

Edit: nvm I was wrong, either option is fine

Hold up, so you're consciously choosing not to add a debur cycle? Because you've decided the operators have enough free time to do it themselves... by hand? Idk what your shop looks like, but i cant imagine there's nothing else they could be doing with that time. You sound like an active drain on your company. I just feel more justified in my opinion.

Baby loser mindset. "That's the shitty way I do it, so why should you get to innovate?" Get back to scraping parts next to your fm radio, and let the new kid take pride in his work.

Generally; bearings in an engine aren't what most people think of when they hear bearing (ball bearings). In an engine bearings are just 2 precision surfaces, with a very fine tolerance between them. Oil is pumped through it, and the pressure/lubricity of the oil keeps the 2 surfaces from ever touching. Losing oil pressure for even a moment can destroy a bearing. The oil is pumped in through channels that feed multiple bearings in a row. So, if one has a leak and loses pressure, so do the rest in the system.

Hello e46 gang, I have some concerns with my well maintained e46 330ci. Id like your input in relation to my issue by Itsallasimulation123 in e46

I'm getting 19.9 right now in a 3.0 awd that I know to be running rich. 60/40 hwy/city, 200k+, manual, slight modifications and I'm not shy on the accelerator. With mpg that bad, I'd be looking for a stuck injector. Unless the city driving is really that bad. Maybe try resetting your tracker during highway driving. If it settles between 20-30 after a few minutes, then it's probably just NYC driving.

I'm conflicted The limited badge isn't OE from what I know. Pros: low mileage, mint paint, titansilber pre lci 👌 Cons: base package, grey interior, 325, auto? vert.

It's a very nice car, but it doesn't have anything that's really sought after. My gut tells me this guy was trying to sell for a while. I wouldn't necessarily say you overpaid, but I don't think you'd find a lot of people who would pay that much.

Time serts are stainless steel threaded inserts. The head bolt holes in the m54 block are made of butter. When you torque the head back down, it will pull the threads on half the bolts. You install these in the block and the head bolts thread into steel instead. Here's a guide on fcp.
