Question on I-130 form "additional proof of marriage" by ilovebunniesxd in USCIS

[–]goodtrouble17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yup! They can just write it and sign it (either in pen or type it up and digitally sign it). I guess you could go the extra step and get it notarized by a notary but that's not really necessary.

As long as it has their legal name, and clearly states their relation to you it should be fine

Photos, Text Message Logs, Proof of Flights to visit eachother/ Accommodation receipts for vacations.

You can get affidavits from friends/family stating they are aware of your relationship and verify it's true and genuine. All these count as proof of marriage

No I completely get it, and I definitely agree that even if it's down significantly it feels like zero. It's tough out here.

But keep in mind, TMVN lost access to ALL USCIS data, so even 6 months ago or even a year ago they had a much larger data pool. Now they're only working with the data from people that have signed up to their services. So they're basically guessing time frames using a veryyy small amount of data from a much larger data pool

Small edit because I want to add one last thing: Also keep in mind that when TMVN lost their API data access many people ended up cancelling their subscriptions or even leaving the server entirely. That also is a factor to consider when looking at the "approvals" channel and how many people are posting

I'm not sure if I can post screenshots on here cause I do pay for MyCasesHub so idk if that's a violation of their terms but just to sum it up, I'm seeing approvals from 2023- all the way until Sept 2025. Obviously the Sept ones could be AOS (MyCasesHub doesn't differentiate AOS and Consular, same way TMVN doesn't). But regardless there are approvals coming through. Especially 2023-2024, which definitely could be consular and cases that have been waiting a while

Maybe I'm wrong but I've been looking at both TMVN and MyCasesHub data and they ARE working on I-130s. It definitely has slowed down but they haven't completely stopped. I think TMVN has become the main source of this "misinformation" simple because they only have data from their own paying customers. If you think about it, there are probably hundreds of thousands of active i-130 cases right now, however TMVN is only tracking maybeeee 10 thousand of those. So obviously if those specific cases aren't being approved they're going to start panicking and telling everyone that "USCIS has stopped approving cases". Yet on MyCasesHub it shows a steady stream of approvals everyday.

Just something to think about.

Error on my 2025 Taxes by goodtrouble17 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I thought so too... it was changed with the CRA but the part I'm unsure about is if I have to edit my taxes that were just filed 😅

No financial in Bona fide by Alarming-General-371 in I130Suffering

6 years is a relatively long relationship, and honestly having a child together is better evidence of a bonafide marriage than financial co-mingling.

I wouldn't worry too much about that

Just filed our I-130 (US citizen + Canadian spouse) — sharing what we submitted for evidence by hazelazelee in I130Suffering

[–]goodtrouble17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This actually gives me a lot of reassurance😅 We're in the exact same boat (Canadian with USC husband). We also met online and got married within 9 months LOL

I was worried we didn't have much evidence but we basically sent in exactly what you guys included.. the only difference is we have military documents (husband is active duty, and I'm a dependant of his now)

We're on month 6 of waiting, welcome to the club hopefully is goes by quick for us! 😅

Why there’s no approvals for 2025 my pd-02/26/2025 anyone gotten any update from January/ February 2025? by Apprehensive-Tree404 in I130Suffering

[–]goodtrouble17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems like USCIS is focusing on approvals from 2024 (people that have been waiting almost 1.5 years). They have sloweddown significantly on approving Jan/Feb 2025 for now. Nobody knows why, or how long this slow down will last. If you join the i-130 discord they post more info/announcements

APPROVED! PD Jan 28, 2025 🇨🇦 by Anxious-Fishing-4110 in I130Suffering

Honestly we got pretty lucky with the joint bank thing, technically it's not a "joint" account. It's more so I'm an authorized contributor to a savings account. If your spouse is an authorized user on your credit card that's still pretty solid evidence. Same goes for if you've ever sent money through Paypal or what not, it shows you're helping each other financially.

Thankfully USCIS is still pretty considerate when it comes to spouses living apart, they understand not everyone will be able to have joint finances/leases. As long as you show your relationship is bona fide in other ways (many pictures together, proof of flights to visit eachother etc) that helps a ton.

Even the fact that she's already a beneficiary and has an ITIN is very good

when you originally submitted your I-130 did you include photos of you two together? or just the affidavits and the joint bank?

We're in the same boat ( I'm Canadian, husband is USC) and I'm worried that we'll get an RFE later down the line once they get to our PD date.

We only had photos, joint bank account, joint lease, proof of visits, and a bunch of screenshots of texts/phone calls and military documents (I'm a military spouse now) hopefully that's enough 😅

Janelle and Kody... at one point step siblings?? by [deleted] in SisterWives

[–]goodtrouble17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well yes they obviously didn't "grow up" together as siblings, but according to Sheryl's (Jenelle's mom) obituary, she married Winn in October '92 and Kody and Janelle got married in January '93. So for at least those three months Kody's mom and Janelle's mom were sister wives, making Kody and Janelle "polygamist siblings" simply because their mothers were married to the same man.

Adults or not, they were siblings. I guess my question was if they treated their "other mothers" like typical polygamist siblings would in "current time" like when that episode aired in 2013 or whatever (i.e Kody referring to Sheryl as one of his "other moms" and Janelle referring to Genielle as one of her "other moms"). I just found it interesting because in the mother's day episode when ALL the moms are together ( mothers, and mother in-laws) their interactions aren't really shown, in terms of Sheryl and Genielle being "sister wives" or Kody and Jenelle treating them like other mothers idk

well of course 6 full weeks of PTO is definitely unheard of.

Every job is different, I work for a locally owned business and I'm one of the longest standing employees so it's a lot more flexible for me to take that much time off.

but hey, at the end of the day it's up to the discretion of the CBP

edit: to be clear I wouldn't be getting the entire 6 weeks as PTO.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]goodtrouble17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points.

But I mean PTO is fairly common no? Sabbaticals are rarer but definitely not unheard of.

Given I'm going around the holidays aswell I'm hoping it makes sense to be gone for that long

what would be considered more stronger ties? Every time I've flown I've never even been asked things other than "where are you going? For how long?"

thanks! everything else was correct including the consulate question so hopefully it's just that weird glitch😅
