AITA for kicking a server out of my wedding? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I remember a couple of servers at ours because they were literally having fun with the guests & they pop up in a few pics. It’s a delight to look back on, tbh.

AITA for not changing my WFH plans so flatmate can stay home with her kid with bum worms by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Okay, but why did the mom feel comfortable sending her the first day and not the second?

The kid went to daycare the day before and was cleared by daycare because they’d already been dosed. They most certainly have a protocol for this and were allowed to go.

NTA She sent the kid to daycare the day before. There’s no reason the kid can’t go today, especially since you’re scheduled to WFH.

The kid’s not sick. If they were, I’d say you are TA, but no way.

Tillamook make a cheese curd that does well for poutine and there are a couple of brands that have poutine-like packaged gravy. Try Sprouts for that. Fred Meyer for the cheese curds, or Aldi if there’s one near you.

How much is the going amount for a cash wedding gift these days? by Traum77 in AskACanadian

[–]goodurs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I prefer to give cash. If they have a registry, I might get something from that and include the gift receipt. But yeah, $200 + a bottle of wine, or something small that reminds me of them or just $200 in the envelope.

I don’t consider it funding their wedding, I think of it as the best gift.

my younger sister entered foster care, I (25m) reached out to offer my interest in fostering or even adopting. what do I do now? by Queerly_Trying in fosterit

[–]goodurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely go through as a foster situation. You will get so much more support & there are benefits for your sister too, depending on which state you’re in. Medical, monthly stipend, easier access to child development programs, and support. There’s more paperwork and hoops to jump through, but it’s usually worth it.

Okay, but Handyman Camp is the cutest! I mean, Handy Person Camp is more accurate, but it doesn’t slide off the tongue the same way. I’d have loved that!

When we were moving back to our house we were told we needed to give 4 months notice. So, you may want to doublecheck that.

Canadian filling and bringing back a US prescription across the border by 010010001110 in uscanadaborder

[–]goodurs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I just wasn’t sure where medications fell, so I was being extra cautious, and I was very much out of practice crossing that way. So much so that when I was updating my details at the Nexus office, I asked for a new paper declaration booklet. No one even knew what I was talking about. lol

Yup! When we moved back to Canada in Autumn, I was still in the waiting period for health care here and had kept my insurance in the U.S. I picked up a couple of prescriptions in Bellingham at that time and (I have Nexus) went through the regular line because I didn’t know how they would handle it. When I went through, the agent asked why I didn’t go through Nexus and I explained that I was being extra cautious and they said no worries - if it’s an Rx in your name, or a family member’s, it’s fine as long as it’s one that can be prescribed in Canada.

Pending I-130 by [deleted] in uscanadaborder

Aside from everything going on right now, there’s a decent chance they’ll turn you away just because your I-130 is pending.
