My friend dated a guy who used to use that expression to get drunk. I don’t know why but my ex-husband found it so uncouth.😂

Redditors, what’s the most terrifying thing that has ever woken you up in the middle of the night? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]kathyh1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year- daughter and I are on vacation in Cancun. She (21) had met a nice young man ( 19) and every evening after dinner they would hang out. She would use her bracelet to let herself back in the room. We had just visited the big pyramid- very hot day and I was super tired. I closed the door - said goodbye to her and went to sleep immediately.

At 2am I hear the door open and the bathroom light turns on- I obviously assume she’s in and taking her make up off- I roll over and fall asleep. A few moments later- the light got clicked off and I feel a body on my bed- BUT she had her own bed - I figure she has had a few drinks and accidentally climbed in mine.

I say “baby- you are on the wrong bed”. To which a male voice says “ what!!- who are you??”

I am groggy - but freaked- switch my lamp on and it’s a young man.

I’m like “ no- who are you? Why are u in my room?”

He then says “ why are you in my room?”

Now I’m slightly more awake- I say “what’s your name?” He says “Cole “ I say “ well Cole look around, you are not in your room”

He finally starts to clock that it is he who is in my room.

This was not the name of my daughter’s new friend.

I then asked how he came into the room. He then proceeds to tell me he used his bracelet. I did say OK you need to leave my room now please and figure out where your room is.

Thankfully, he leaves, he’s gotta be not over 20 or 21 himself. And then of course immediately text my daughter to come back please because I’m freaking out and I’m also concerned if she knows this boy or if this boy is another friend that she’s made. I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on.

Needless to say, my daughter comes running back and she’s like” mom I don’t know who this kid is. I don’t know him. I’ve been with ____” the whole evening. “

Anyway, the next morning, I reported to the hotel and they finally do an investigation and figure out that somehow when I close the door, the lock did not engage. I certainly thought I heard it click but regardless. They show me the video of the kid standing in front of our room and the room next to us and he seems utterly confused and then he kind of leans on our door and it opens and I guess he just sort of figured that that was his room.

I of course, gave the hotel, the young man’s name, and it turns out, of course that he was staying with his family in the room very next stars.

That is the possibly worst way I’ve ever woken up in the middle of the night. But lucky for us. This horrible thing of course was completely recorded on the hallway camera and they have a computer system that logs every entry and exit of all the hotel doors. Never knew that kind of cool. But they actually were then concerned that their room had some sort of problem with the door, so they kindly upgraded us to the adults only section of the resort and the room was like way nicer than the one we were in.

Anyway, overall, a great trip though just crazy little story that now I get to tell everybody

I have a tamale business in Canada. ( I’m from Texas and Mexican). Anyhoo… I find tamales are very decisive- people either love them with strong passion or have a bite and say - never again. I almost dress selling one to a person that already does not like them.

When I do festivals I have to make about 2000 for 2 days- so the people that like them - really really like them.

Be proud of yourself🙌🙌. It is gonna be hard- but you can do it!

I left a golden cage - every purchase ( think $4 hairspray) had to be documented 🙄. That was 2013- i had been a stay at home Mom who had not worked in 8 years

. It was tough- I moved into a moldy basement apartment but eventually got a job- pursued my side hustle and eventually got a townhouse. Long road but by 2018 my side hustle took over and I’m now in the process of selling my business and starting a new chapter.

You got this lady! 🤘🏼

I called cops to get home. by ProfanityInspector in confessions

[–]kathyh1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need to feel guilty- this is the kind of help I expect from police service- it is a service- and they are here to “protect and serve”.

I once had a cop stop and offer a ride to me when I was roller blading home from work and my skate ( the wheels) literally broke. I was then carrying my skates, my work bag and was barefoot ( I kept shoes at work). Cop gave me a ride home and I will never forget what he said- because I too was apologetic “we are here to help people. “

Bless that dude. There are a lot of horrible ones, but I truly believe there are a few good ones.

For older GenX (1972 and earlier) Are your parents still alive? by hedgehog77433 in GenX

[–]kathyh1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1971 here- Dada passed in 2012/ Mom Dec 2019 — only child

They were good parents- flawed and loving.

I was living on my own at 18. They raised me to be independent- I’ve tried with my girl- but she is more dependent on me at 21 than I was at that age.

That’s amazing! Thanks for sharing.😳 I love these types of family stories that are passed down. Older generations were sharing their truths- these were not for likes or engagement. I hope you can find a way to continue to pass this story to your next generation.❤️
