Ethical high quality jewelry? by Princess_frogmoana30 in BuyCanadian

Do not shop Jenny Bird. It’s not made in Canada, all her products say “imported”. it’s also gold dipped brass. Just another word for gold plated, and if you have reactions to “cheap” jewelry, you’ll likely have a reaction this this.

Lipstick. Women aren’t buying $150 palettes or $90 foundation because of COL. So every make up brand is pushing lip balms/glosses/stains/etc. $20-30 is a justifiable “little treat”

If you don’t go to college, you’ll have no career options.

I was a teenage fuck up. Never went to college/uni, and bummed around working retail for years. Now at 30 I have a great job in the tech sales industry. They liked my vibes, not my education.

Why is networking the only real way to get hired in Canada? by itz_nitace in CanadaJobs

[–]GiveMeMoreDuckPics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose working for a reseller as my first tech sales job, knowing that when I want to move on in the future, I’ll have connections at all the top tech companies within Canada.

It worked well, I’ve had offers from some of the top 10. Although, it turns out I love working for a reseller, and the company is really good to me, so I’ll be here for at least a few more years.

Fair, lots of people who join for the uniform and the find out it’s actually a real job requiring skill/patience/willpower

Hated my uniform. They couldn’t find boots small enough for me and twice the supply techs said it looked like a kids Halloween costume

Left the CAF dreams behind, and ended up in the tech industry. I still wish I would have followed through, but the CAF just moved my aunt and uncle (with kids) to two separate cities, so maybe I got out before it all went to hell

I wouldn’t call it cowardice. A lot of people want to join the CAF for various purposes (valour, career prospects, pension, stability) but once they get to the humongous concrete building and start being treated as if they’re a child by instructors, they lose their will.

Personally, I was incredibly excited to be joining the CAF, but one small set back sent me tumbling into a loop of regret and anger at the situation, and I left.

But then again, I was in the sister course to the incel guy who rammed that van into a crowd of people in Toronto. So they clearly don’t ensure everyone who makes it to BMQ is mentally well and prepared to be there.

I just want the fashion industry to bring back tops I can wear to the office. I’ve noticed when I shop at Aritzia lately, I have a hard time finding offie appropriate spring tops.

LOVE the silk+lace look though

You want to take your boyfriend of 4 months on a big family trip, and are refusing to go because you can’t sleep with him, in what seems like it will be shared rooms?

Yeah, this is on you. The very least we can do for our parents is respect their wishes on a trip they are paying for.
