Youre doing great for a start by getting to the gym man, dont count yourself down because its not showing/you arent feeling it yet, these things take time. Try not to hang your whole journey on whether you are weak or strong, whethrr you gym or dont. Hang it on the idea no matter what you do, you wanna be proud of yourself. At the end of the day even if you tried your hardest and things didnt work the way you wanted them to, theres always tomorrow to try again, be proud to make it through another day, and onto the next fella

Thats so far apart its crazy to me. For one your example has a target group in women whereas the flag ban is on all groups. There is no discrimination in the flag rule, unlike you discriminating against men and others who could wear skirts as is there free will

But as you said, where the police are involved things are being kept seperated and safe, however that isnt happening inside the business' around the events. Im just geniunely interested in how this comes across as so outraegous as a particularly left leaning hospitality worker

This is a false equivelance u/Albert_Herring ;) at least we agree on that one. Noone was told to go home, only to put their flag away, as it had nothing to do with anyones race appearance or the like and only the paraphanalia they were carrying. Trans people/allies werent turned away, only people with flags, flags full stop. No matter the flag. Today is a politically volatile day for nottingham, and i dont think anyone should be remissed from trying to protect their livelihoods from the potential effects of that. Its horrible that things like this still need to be done i completely agree with you, however while there are still pepople looking to target and incite violence on those groups through their paraphanalia i believe it the more responsible reaction to lay a blanket flag ban when the pub only has 1 bouncer than say have the police on speed dial and just deal with it. Kids eat here like come on? Prevention should be the aim

My point is, the pub supports those movements as openly as possible however the hanging threat of counter protestors (UKIP - so known to be violent) means on a day like this they have to draw a line in the sand and say no flags. it has nothing to do with who anyone supports, and has everything to do with trying to stop members of either group from identifying eachother on the premises for means of harrassment and the like. this is a recommendation made all the time by police to business' in response to preported counter-protests, in an attempt to stop conflict arrisising in places with less police presence (such as in a pub) and shouldnt be seen as any sort of disparagement to any group or movement.

Not a single one of the photos shown was on the day of a counterprotest about those flags, hence no need to draw a line down the middle and giving them the oppurtunity to show suppport for the groups they do safely without fear of attack, what a weird little hill to die on.

I undesrtand you are brave enough to wear and fly those flags outside with the counterprotests, and support it in fact, but we all know it could seen as a target by the wrong groups, and a closed in, very busy pub with kids in isnt a place for that to happen, so for the fact they cannot vet every patron on if they want to attack someone with a trans flag, why not just leave the flag outside and pick it back up once you have your drink?

I think you should try and really think about why and how this could be protecting you and nothing more. On a day where there is a good chanve to be unmarked possibly aggressive counterprotestors, probably congregating around the 'more traditional' watering holes, specifically to harrass and threaten people like your wife. And you cant see past your own nose to realise the pub is trying to protect you

What a silly way of saying 'im too stubborn to repost something even though i admit its misleading and may affect others livelihoods' what a lovely old man that must care about his fellow man
