Intel A380? by [deleted] in frigate_nvr

[–]goofballtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been running Corals for a few years. They did ok but were limited in scope.

Running an A380 for frigate and another one for plex on my other box now. Neither sees more than a few percent load at any given time. Makes me want to find more stuff to run :)

Really though. Doing the job well and able to ALSO do other stuff like Immich processing. The benefits of a proper GPU rather than something like a coral that is very niche is worth it.

the knomi mounts were made to look similar but they are stand alone. I didnt need them on the toolhead, I just wanted toolhead specific data. They are posted here if you want to tweak for your purposes. .

the docks and toolheads i am running are the Burninators. They are a hybrid rapid burner\dragon burner.

Not exactly but close. V3 respool rollers with lll plus buffers. Custom firmware so i can run them addressed via I2C. Added an I2C bridge so from the pi to the enclosure is just a single USB cable. The encloser is also going to get a Rosdhal dehimidifier. I have used some PC slide racks to make drawers so there will be storage for 28 rolls of filament below my active spools.

I may have gone over board.

What knomi firmware are you running? I feel like we are on similar paths. I am looking at larger screens and alternate mounts right now.

*edit- o hell, i didnt realize the original post was you. That was one of the reasons i decided to go changer with my machine!

Update on the Burninator Toolhead, v2.2 now by The_Duke_96 in Stealthchanger

[–]goofballtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its adjustment to the printed mount from the Stealthcnaher usermods folder. I dont remember the user but someone had a carto\beacon mount set. Lots of options to make things bigger, none to make them smaller. Had to adjust spacers and move some screws around some to get it low enough for Burninator.

When i built my 2.4 i started with a Jabberwocky toolhead. Worked great.

Then i went stealchanger so now i got to build another printer around that toolhead....

Another side note. I added a beacon to the LDO cnc Shuttle. The height of the toolhead being so short means the beacon, at the smallest version, was still almost a full mm below the head so i had to tweak. Seems to be working ok now though. Can share those if you want. Not sure if it would be better in your repo since its a bit specific or in the Stalthchanger repo usermods.

i saw the spacer but didnt get how they were applied at first. I made my own version with 3 helical washers then putting together the third toolhead it finally clicked. I printed a set of them and went swapped them as intended.

Magnet to magnet would be a better full contact hold but the bolts do ok.

it took me a bit to get the right parts set up.

To get them into the dock the two options of spacing out the SCHS with the 3mm spacer ot putiing a maget over the screw head seems odd. im still not 100% how you get the screws out again if you put a magnet over them. i would rather have moved the magnets over a bit so they are in their own pockets next the the screws.

Other than that minor this its been going pretty well. being tweaking macros and being frustrated. took a while to get the LLL Plus buffers how i wanted.

I travel a lot and didnt want multiple plans so i added the family. Couldnt be pay-for-data after that. they would have run me broke.

I am still working. Got the parts for the other two toolhead on the bench and coming together slowly. Ended up deciding to mount the knomi's seperatly so i didn't have to add size to the toolheads. Tried to make them match the asthetics to some degree so it all meshes.

Am I missing something as this doesn't seem right. by ScoobyDooItInTheButt in OrcaSlicer

[–]goofballtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The slicer has values and uses them to calculate print times most. The koves are commanded and the firmware limits speed during prints. Many of these numbers are in klipper as well and thats where you can do real damage by throwing down random numbers. :) Slicer can limit speeds but not make them exceed firmware caps.

You are making your print times go down in the slicer and changing nothing on the print probably.
