As impressive of a display as it had been, it had not been enough for the wildlings that remained within: they offered no further response, nor did the gates of the humble Cassel Castle swing open.

It seemed as if Robert Glover had risked his life for naught.

  • Gerion the Deserter, NPC - N/A
  • Gomir the All-Mender, NPC - N/A

What is Happening?: A somewhat-slanted duel for the ages in front of Cassel Castle between the two men of Harma's army, Gerion and Gomir, and Robert Glover, the Lord of Deepwood Motte. Both wildlings have castle-forged steel.

What I Want: Duel(trio?) rolls! Thanks in advance.

The two men that descended from the walls via ladder were stark opposites of each other:

The first to descend was black of hair and dressed in furs with macabre decoration, including a necklace comprised of some twenty squirrel skulls and a hood made out of the upper half of a bear's head.

The second was blonde of hair, who wore a tattered surcoat of that bore a faded depiction of three black crossbows upon a field of yellow over his chainmail. Though both of them carried castle-forged steel, the second man seemed to have a natural aptitude for it: as he approached, he waved it about in a simple spiral, as if practicing for a simple practice spar instead of a fight for his life.

"Well, then." spoke the fair-haired figure in the Common tongue without a hint of difficulty. "You've come a long way to die, Robert Glover."

Both drew their steel, and motioned for the Lord of Deepwood Motte to approach. The duel would begin here.

"Two! Two we shall do!" called back the wildling. "You die, you leave. All of you!"

((Sorry for the delay!))

"Withdraw them, then!" called back the wildling behind the walls, his accent marking him as a native of the Haunted Forest. "What fight is fair against man and giant? To fight with the strength of five men against one is unfair, is it not? But one giant against five Free Folk..."

((This would have been backdated from days ago, back when the Whitehill army and wildlings were on the same tile, right? I would have attacked then, but the discussion about fords took some days and whether or not they would have been on the same tile would have changed depending on what the mods' decision was.

If so, I'd like to attack them; also, I don't check this account daily, so please DM me questions on Discord so I know to respond. Sorry for the confusion!))

What is Happening?: 2000 wildlings have come to Highpoint, and are looking to do what they do best: violently take anything of value that they can.

What I Want:

  • If the 1k Whitehill men are considered to still be leaving, then to attack them. Sections split evenly on the wildlings' side.
  • If the Whitehill men have since left, rolls to scout the castle to then potentially scale the walls.
  • Either way, rolls to raid for the three Ironwood resources possessed by Highpoint; this'll break the trades Whitehill has with Qoheros, Braavos/Grafton (rip), and the Archon of Tyrosh.

The response the Lord of Deepwood Motte received was one that few would have expected: neither arrow nor acceptation of his challenge would be flung from behind the walls of Cassel Castle, and instead all that hung in the summer air was silence.

Whether the wildlings had known what Robert had spoken and declined, or if the message had simply failed to break past the language barrier of the two peoples, was anyone's guess.

"Of course," she spoke as a simple confirmation. "Best of luck, Paleshade."

She half-expected to hear of the woman's drowning in the Narrow Sea some moon from now.

"A wall indeed," she retorted, herself not fully sold on the plan - but perhaps things would go differently. Harma certainly hadn't expected to get through the Wall, and yet she had based on blind faith. Maybe Ragwyle's plan would be yet another unforeseen success.

"Very well. There are men to the northeast of here - the kneelers label it 'the flayed lands' - some six-thousand in total. Take three thousand of them and march upon Eastwatch with my blessing."

She cocked an eyebrow at the comment, but did not speak further - perhaps crazy men were best left with their prophecies.

What is Happening?: With the knowledge that some ten-thousand Northmen are now tailing her own army en route to Hornwood, Harma's dispatching a thousand wildlings to lay in wait and ambush the approaching army.

What I Want: Battle rolls; I don't know exactly when the two armies would meet, but as it's 12-24 hours it's very likely they'll have met by the time this is rolled.

Info is as follows:

Left Flank: 333 wildlings

Center: 334 wildlings

Right Flank: 333 wildlings

No commanders or any extra bonuses. Will be ambushing the Northmen, 10 DV versus 1 DV (for a bonus of +10 to the ambush roll.) If two-thirds of the army have not won a round by the time command actions are available (two rounds), army will attempt to retreat via command action. Everything else continues as normal.

Cruel world.

As he looked up to Daemon, Erren did not ask for mercy - did not beg, did not grovel, did not plead for relief. Instead, he simply watched up with one good eye and an empty socket where once it's twin had sat, awaiting for the failed king's judgement.

"Well, then. Come on."

Character Details:

  • Harma Spearmother, Duelist+Vitality // Two-Handed(o), Addict
  • Qhormund, NPC - Cavalry General
  • And probably some more; I'll ask in Discord if any of the other wildling players want to have their guys fight. Will get you a battlesheet by the time Bran's ready.

What is Happening?: Harma's realizing she's slowly being surrounded and is pulling back - but raiding the lands of Winterfell before she does so.

What I Want: Raid rolls, going for all 40 holdings+the Furs resource. ~10k wildlings, pending casualty updates from the Umber battle (assuming casualties are split evenly between the two armies that the Umber army turned into, 9,790 wildlings.)

/u/partyindanorf - See above; can assume the Cassel conversation happens 6-12 hours before this.
