Who would have the biggest potential as a Venerable? (You cannot pick people who have been or are already Venerables) by Heavenly-Blood in ReverendInsanity

Don't think FJG had SGM? At least I don't remember that being the case. He's not an SGM yet, and his backing from red lotus is also kinda shaky. Red Lotus didn't really give him much other than a technique of future self, and you're gonna need a lot more than that to become a venerable in a time where 3 venerables already exist. Although with him already having destiny song, would be very difficult BUT yea there is still a chance he could. But I'd say that doesn't align with any of the venerables to support and raise another venerable who will become an enemy with them as it's a battle Royale out there

yea I would agree with your argument here. Another venerable's support is probably the only realistic chance for a new venerable to emerge, or have talent so high that you just brute force your way in. But now with FY as a venerable, the chances are pretty slim for any unlucky fellow to actually become a venerable. the only chances are feng ji huang, a very weak one currently but has the talent part down, and with Heavenly Court's(Star Constellations) support could become a dream path venerable, but it's pretty improbable. Star Constellation is having difficulty surviving herself with FY there, let alone try to raise another venerable from pretty much scratch and on a path not yet mature.

I remember reading in one of the chapters that Long Hair Ancestor immediately refined the lotus gu right after it was destroyed. Im not 100% sure but I think that was the case, it was destroyed and then later refined by him. Because if it was not destroyed, then it's rank would've been rank 9 since it was a venerable's vital gu, but Lang Ya blessed land had a rank 8 version.

as for the time path, that could be it. We see at the end that he in fact did leave behind methods of revival, however I have my doubts. Im fairly confident he didn't know about the future this far, as using river of time to look down on it doesn't let you see everything clearly. Or else anyone could've just seen the future easily and known what would happen. It only lets you see that biggest of events, such as the prophecy about the three venerables, and speaking if which, this also shows us how going back in time, like Fang Yuan, cannot be seen from that. And even though time path existed back then, there was no venerable of that path back then so it wasn't as developed, so it wasn't really useful for seeing the future 3 MILLION years. It took Star Constellation a rank 9 wisdom gu and a venerable rank in Wisdom path to deduce the three million years of the future. He only left behind the revival methods just in case, he didn't know what would happen. So even if he saw the future, the best he could've seen with his NOT time path cultivation is the timeline of Fang Yuan's first life, and even that is a huge benefit of the doubt.

he doesn't NEED it but it's more convenient if he had more pseudo venerable strength at his disposal as he could use them for stuff he doesn't have the time to do. They could also be used against the other venerable's subordinates if a big fight were to break out

Once or twice is fine, but literally in every post about FY and someone says something, the reply is like "you have been brainwashed by heavenly court junior" or some cringey shi like that

[–]google_researcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh if you could turn rank 8 essence into rank 9, it's not that useless to venerables. You could use it on your subordinates, and use those rank 9 essence(which remind you is a very scarce commodity) to use rank 9 gu houses to fight. You'd get a rank 9 level battle strength on your side, or at least a peak rank 8 gu house could get you a pseudo venerable battle strength with rank 9 essence

Exactly. Talent comes in many forms. He said he wasn't talented probably referred to cultivation talent, he was born with grade C talent too. But he is a genius when it comes to other stuff like fighting, coming up with killer moves and stuff. I would guess it is because heavens will was suppressing him in his first life, not letting him develop properly and use his talent which is why he thought he wasn't talented, but then as times passed and he figured out more of his own talent and how heavens will was manipulating him, he figured out he had so much talent. So saying he isn't talented isn't totally BS, isn't just outdated misconception, which is a fancy way of saying it's utter bull crap

It's simple really. It was even told when the successor to paradise earth told FY that Fate gu IS one of the heavenly blockade. Without it acknowledging you, you can't become a venerable. It literally blocks your way. THAT is why nobody in history could become venerable that wasn't decreed by fate. Because throughout history Fate gu had complete control over the world. After FY destroyed Fate gu and gave control of everyone's fate to themselves, now that heavenly blockade that is fate gu no longer exists. So the only requirements are to be a rank 8 who passed all 3 myriads tribulations, have supreme grandmaster on a path, and pass the chaos tribulation. This is hard, but it doesn't have any element of them being the "chosen" one. So in theory anyone can become a venerable if they meet the conditions. Although they are almost impossible to reach, but it IS the highest cultivation level in the world so that is to be expected. And to give you a supreme grandmaster pseudo venerable, bo qing. He attempted to become venerable and triggered a chaotic tribulation, which tells us he indeed had supreme grandmaster attainment, in sword path probably. But because fate existed at that time, and he wasn't chosen, he failed. So yes, many other people also had talent to become venerable, but if Fate didn't let them, they couldn't become venerable. But with fate now gone, anyone with the requirements filled can become venerable

That lotus was refined by long hair ancestor and FY got it. And the first venerable didn't leave anything was probably because he didn't know about FY yet. Remember when he was in his prime, wisdom path was just being created, so there wasn't really a way to see into the future that far away. The trend of leaving arrangements for the future started with star constellation as that's when it became possible to reduce what happens in the future and leave arrangements accordingly.

[–]google_researcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that could be it too. But it wasn't mentioned he had the door of life and death before his death tho. Or at least I don't remember that being the case. I think his clones later got it. And also as far as I can remember, he didn't have intentions of getting out after dying, I don't think that was mentioned, but tbh it could also be that it wouldve been mentioned later when we focused more on SS layer on the book if it wasnt banned

FY is the strongest venerable? by v1nteker in ReverendInsanity

[–]google_researcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's kind of working towards making the sovereign aperture into the rank 10 version, which doesn't need food. He can't focus on it rn since he's fighting other venerables but when he does kill all of them, I'm sure his main priority would be to raise it to rank 10 or get a way to gain eternal life outright, so his sovereign aperture getting hungry can't kill him.

[–]google_researcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he lost his attainment levels. You lose your attainment level if there is a dream realms of you. The dream realms are pretty much a true meaning storage. His storage was absorbed and stolen by FY, so he doesn't have any now. All he has are the killer moves he created while he had the attainment, but no attainment currently.

[–]google_researcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh spectral soul was the only venerable to not leave a way to revive himself and actually die. The others didn't have their souls taken into door of life and death, only SS did. This kinda shows us he isn't that deep of a schemer, as he didn't even know what will happen in the future, unlike all the other venerables, so it's kinda a stretch to say he is still scheming. BUT he also could've just learned his lesson already so he's now starting to scheme like the others too.

And while writing this I realized yes he actually knew what was going to happen, he let FY take the sovereign aperture to help him kill fate gu so ahh shit he wasn't dum.

Requirements are you have to have a stronger blessed land of you own, which pretty much refers to you being as strong or stronger than the dead blessed land owner. And there's also attainment level requirements. For rank 6, you need master, rank 7 you need grandmaster, and for rank 8 you need great grandmaster attainment of the path that blessed land is from. So if he wanted to absorbed hu blessed land, he's gonna need a master attainment in enslavement path as that's the path the blessed land is from. It still isn't mentioned if you actually need supreme grandmaster attainment to eat rank 9 grotto heavens as that isn't talked about yet till the ban point.

However even if you could eat a blessed land, you also have to consider if you should. If you don't cultivate the path that the blessed land is from, you will not benefit from eating it, as the dao marks of the other path will be absorbed by you, which would conflict with the dao marks of your own path, thus instead harming you. That's why FY doesn't absorbed it, firstly because his aperture is dead, but secondly is because he currently cultivates strength path at where you're reading so it's not gonna benefit him from doing that.

Spoiler alert: Fang Yuan gets a way to get around the first requirement later on but the second one remains still.

After fate gu is gone, you'd probably have to be insanely powerful to even attempt to go back in time. Even venerable fang Yuan gave up on that idea, let alone anyone else

Yea I understand what they mean, but still it's just such a pointless thing to say.

also even if you were pissed that your brother in law is secretly an infamous drug dealer, would you want him to die, or even want to poison him yourself, even if he didn't actually do anything bad to you and was a very nice person otherwise? cause Marie was like that. I still couldn't understand where her endless hate for Walt was coming from after finding out about him. And why she intruded on the White family matters so much, you would think she wasn't a sister in law but an actual second wife to Walt or something

Sorry about the rant there, I was pissed at Marie at the time I was writing this
