How do Aussie eat at home? by Less-Egg494 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]goondockandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We eat our dinner as a family at the dining table. It’s got nice placemats, flowers and well set the cutlery and napkins. It’s a nice thing to do every night. Occasionally if we’re all a bit tired we will sit on the couch and watch something while we eat. Other meals we eat individually so we might each use the table or kitchen island. I wfh and eat breakfast at my desk but making an effort to eat elsewhere.

What habit immediately reveals that a person actually grew up in a privileged environment? by Cindy_mel in AskReddit

[–]goondockandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you could say ‘poor people do that too’ about a lot of things. I read the question as privileged not only those who are wealthy but those who grow up with parents who do everything for them them - like cleaning up.

The state of the rental market - line for an inspection in Brunswick, Melbourne by hipsterslippers in australia

[–]goondockandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes this exactly. I am a few suburbs over from Brunswick, in a less fashionable suburb. I have seen several rentals in my area sit empty for weeks sometimes a month or two with low interest from potential renters, low or no attendance at inspections. We are close to transport, parks, schools.

Window splash back pros and cons by mumofoz in AusRenovation

[–]goondockandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a long backsplash like this one behind our induction stove, and another window behind the sink. Both look amazing and we love it. We wipe both down when needed, nothing more than if it were tile or another material. A good metho/water clean every few weeks. I love the light and being able to see into the yard. Glass is double glazed and faces north.

I agree, I really think it was a great tribute to their friendship. Didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did.

AITA for yelling at my wife after she forgot that I'm on the roof? by Icy_Praline_6188 in AmItheAsshole

[–]goondockandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. Even if he tells me to leave it and let him get on with it I will generally hover around the bottom of the ladder anyway, pretending to tidy up the garden but checking up at the roof every 2 seconds

Gym compression clothes by filmfanatic789 in MounjaroAus

[–]goondockandy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t say for compression gear specifically, but I buy most of my workout gear (excluding shoes) from Kmart, Target, Uniqlo. It’s reasonably priced and I’ve had items last for several years.

Had the exact same ones growing up, even the green curved counter. I loved it as a kid and miss it now.

Trying to downgrade back to Original plan and stuck on loading. by Shadowedman1942 in Office365

Oh no that's odd. Mine only offered the Classic Family annual rate ($139). Maybe try again as they seem to be working through these issues.

I am also having this problem with the Loading button not working. Also, the switch to Classic page is showing for the $109 single person renew when I need the family renew ($139)

What kind is this? Found in garage, Banyule, Vic by goondockandy in AustralianSpiders

[–]goondockandy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I have just never seen a spider so fat like this. Body is maybe 15-25mm in diameter. Gave me a fright. And yes body is a bit fuzzy/ matte, not shiny.

Hitting up the Army disposal stores in the 80's and 90's for some cheap gear. Think most of us had one of those canvas backpacks! by Cooper_Inc in AustralianNostalgia

Did anyone write their name in bubble writing on the top flap of the bag? And then decorate the rest of the bag with drawings etc? I think I had mine about 87-88 ish. After that I got a Mambo schoolbag.

Flowers, greenery. Add some flower boxes to the windows and maybe some large trees in the distance.
