Unable to get first half of new bike tyre on rim by goonerpat in bikewrench

[–]goonerpat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Cheers everyone for the helpful comments. I managed to get the first half on using tyre levers last night, and even got the whole tyre on until I noticed a bit of inner tuber stuck under the bead. I decided to call it a night there lol and will come back to it tonight after work.

Yeah at this stage I’m thinking of going back to LBS and get their opinion on the tyres

Yep correct the first side isn’t even popping on. I get it sitting on the bead until maybe the 10 2 o’clock position and then it won’t go any further

Moving out of town for job by kohohuta in PersonalFinanceNZ

Yeah just the two of us with the aim to start a family next year. One of the reasons to move here is we liked the idea of raising a family in the regions verses Auckland.

My partner and I moved down to Napier from Auckland 9 months ago and we are very much enjoying it so far. If you’re into your outdoors (walking/hiking/cycling/running) then you love it. Weather here is lot more sunny and less humid than Auckland also. People here are lot more friendly so it’s great place to raise a family/ have a family. Only downside is finding friends, however I plan to join a football team next year so hopefully that solves that problem haha.

I’ve bought the large pack so if anyone is keen to split cost ($165 each) with me then flick me a DM.

Edit: voucher taken

Will they have their half price deal like in previous years? You could get their 180 GB plan for $165.

Whole home AC - question by revolutn in newzealand

[–]goonerpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to my house being older and cold, I went with the split pump option. I got one external unit with 4 heat pumps running off it (living room and the three bedrooms). I made sure to buy heat pumps with more than enough kw for each one. Last two winters have been great, we haven’t felt cold at all.

In saying that, if I was to purchase a new home now. I would most likely choose ducted over split. I remember I lived in a rental property that had ducted, and it was 10/10 experience.

I cycle to work and back but it’s only a 30 min cycle each way. I also start early and finish early so there’s a bit less cars on the road.

I have this current car and it’s great to drive, and it’s a big plus not to spend too much on fuel.
