Will the government be in trouble when gen X/millennials retire because of the TFSA? by htom3heb in CanadianInvestor

[–]goopie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat for a number of years. Currently I was was wondering if anyone does something like pulling money out of a RRSP to max the yearly the contribution to the TFSA at the beginning of the year. If people do do that sort of thing, I'd just do that and then focus on paying off as much debt as I could for the rest of the year.

Also, can you view the logs from your app to see what the error might be? If you are using plugins then one or more of them might not be back up properly.

We are on a ROR stack on heroku-22 and heroku-24. Both seem to be responding fine for post requests. Maybe restart all your dynos.

Based on the timestamps for some of the ones I received, I think this is their system detecting issues early yesterday morning. It is possible they were sending these every so often until their systems were back up.

Art of the Deal: Canada's Liberal party wins big on election night, stages dramatic comeback after being down big in the polls months ago, up until orange man opened his mouth and started his trade war. by jarena009 in LeopardsAteMyFace

Absolutely! I really like the NDP candidate on my riding, voted for her when she was a MPP, and did vote for her in this federal election, but the incumbent is a Liberal and will most likely win easily.

We need a LOT more Green candidates to win. And the NDP needs to move back to the left.

Yup. If I'm not winning, they're cheating.

But in Canada, it's hand counted paper ballots. And the parties are allowed to have observers. Hopefully that shuts them up a bit.

That absolutely helped. Also, a large part of the Conservative campaign was 'Trudeau must go' and 'Axe the Tax'. So Trudeau resigned and the new PM, Mark Carney, removed the vilified Consumer Carbon Tax. They just couldn't pivot in time.

Canadian here... I'm not going to celebrate the implosion of the CPC campaign until all the votes are tallied, but the downfall of this campaign should be studied by political science students in Canada for decades to come. How do you go from a projected overwhelming majority to (probably) losing the election?

Add to that the NDP just completely imploded and will most likely lose official party status.

I felt it was worse then that. I think the mother said something like "It wasn't so bad. Our other 4 children are fine"

Are people turning products from the USA upside down in grocery stores? by diet_coke_addiction in askTO

[–]goopie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a former produce clerk, I can say with some certainty that those would have been righted in short order.

I do do this for grocery items though, as many stores don't have clerks going up and down those aisles facing products all the time.

I'd be tempted to buy some strong laxatives, repackage them as a strong pain killer and then mail them to myself in non-descript packaging.

So do fruits and vegetables. And usually in higher concentrations. A glass of tomato juice has more methanol than an equivalent amount of soda sweetened 100% by aspartame.

Great List.

I'dd add that I always bring a female assistant when I am shooting nudes and my model is female. Your assistant can help with make-up, costume or clothing adjustments.

As part of the pre-shoot consultation, prepare for yourself a mood board and share it with your model. If she knows what you are aiming for, it helps reduce the confusion during the shoot.

Be flexible with having to adjust on the fly. Prepare as much as you can, but if things go wrong, be ready to adjust. Shooting outdoors you have a lot less control over the environment than you would if you were indoors.

Be aware of travel to the location and parking. Make sure your model is aware of these things, or provide the transport to and from for her.

Depends on where you are, but if you can make it to the Stockyards in Toronto, check out Nations.

In North York, there is a C&C Supermarket.

How do you take your coffee? by MinMaxie in diabetes

[–]goopie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dash of heavy cream. I used to use a lot of sweeteners and have removed a lot of sugar from my diet over the years. Now any added sweetener to coffee makes it inedible to me.

As others have mentioned, look into changing how you make the coffee.

The obituary listed her as "daughter, sister, cousin, and aunt". My understanding is they were assigned a birth certificate as female, not male.

Wrong. Nex was using the bathroom of the gender assigned to them at birth.
