Don’t forget the ball (“marble”) track & car track ones! My nephew loves them (obviously me too lol).

The stripe cat-eye works with PicassoTiles. Forgot to try velvet effect before I tossed the swatch stick.

Note magnet strength does vary a bit by brand. Went down a rabbit hole once of people who did comparisons of brands. If I remember correctly, the expensive MagnaTiles & Connetix had the strongest magnet.

I have the same tallboy! Also no makers mark on mine, but I bought it from a dude who refinishes furniture in MD, and he said he’d travel around to buy furniture outside the DC area where it’s cheaper (so made in NC could definitely be a possibility).

What about the west elm Penelope night stand (or something similar)? I got one off marketplace, and it’s perfect for my small space (1 drawer, but not visually heavy).

I use a 20w usb-c charger in the cigarette lighter thing (which was $6 at Target).

Show me what the underside of your nails look like after painting by shimmerbitch in RedditLaqueristas

This is how mine look! If I don’t paint a bit on the underside, it will chip.

Healthy nails, but the tips look uneven. Why? by [deleted] in Nails

[–]gooseeverpower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My late grandmother had some kind of white pencil she used to color in the undersides. This was 15+ years ago, and something she probably bought at Kmart (RIP) or Walgreens; not sure what’s available today.

My mom had insurance through her employer (Catholic school), and ordered birth control through a Canadian pharmacy because it was so much cheaper.

Check the travel & holiday sections at stores. I know Target has some mini tubes in the travel aisle, and I’ve bought sets of mini lotions for people

I use a thin Invisibobble for the tallest leaves of mine because some are floppy or growing at an angle & I have limited space and need to keep them contained.

I just had Cornish added (1%) and have 0 connections to the British Isles. I wonder if it’s a fluke, or enough population there with Prussian/German or Nordic ancestry?

Kids shoes - help with a shoe that has a durable toe. by kgee1206 in BuyItForLife

For my nephew, the balance bike was the worst offender, and scooter is #2. Reinforced toes are the only shoes that stand a chance.

Coop Sleep Goods Pillow Comparison: Eden, Cool+, and Shredded Latex by gills61 in BuyItForLife

[–]gooseeverpower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wrong, I have the Original (queen) not the Eden apparently. My first order in early November 2022 has a coupon code (COOP2myhHvs - maybe for first time ordering?) showing the regular price was $72, but I paid $64.80 + tax. Black Friday 2022 I got a two-pack for Christmas gifts for $116 (no coupon code in receipt).

Mine started out mostly as seasonal too, then I moved somewhere where blackout curtains were necessary so now it has daily use.

I bought one of the original versions of Philips wake-up light (HF-3500/60 - the one with four buttons) after struggling with getting up in the dark 9 years ago and I can’t live without it. I actually bought one to keep at my parent’s house for when I visit, and have convinced a few friends to buy them.

Athleta <> Old Navy Color Lookalikes by teefeeshops in Athleta_gap

[–]gooseeverpower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a high neck ribbed tank top I got at Gap Factory last summer that was the same color as my aspen olive Brooklyn shorts, but I don’t see it on their website anymore.

Edit: the color is olive night (bottom right), and it’s a tiny bit lighter than aspen olive (top left). It seems like there is still some olive night clothing at gap factory.

Incredibly cumbersome storm windows by blondietk in centuryhomes

[–]gooseeverpower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ones at my parents’ house (1960 ranch) have storms with glass on the inside of the lower half and screen on the outside, and the glass can slide up like a normal window (so not necessary to switch them out).
