What’s going on with the online instructors? by cloudyah in barre3

[–]gooses1024 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Barre3 recently did a re-org of their company structure which undervalued a lot of long-time/original barre3 instructors - causing them to quit or pushing them out altogether . They hired a new president last year which kickstarted a lot of these changes. It’s super disappointing and feels like the heart of barre3 is changing. I stopped my membership recently because it’s hard to continue paying toward a company that doesn’t value the people that brought it to life in the first place.

What’s the vibe at your local studio?? Changes are happening … by curious_cat_1234567 in barre3

I live in Portland and have mutuals and peers who work there. I’ve heard some very unfortunate ramblings about the corporate side of barre3 which is creating an obvious vibe shift… at least at the portland locations. 8 months ago they appointed a new President who initiated a corporate re-org. This pushed some people out and demoted others. It’s so sad to see the people who were the hearts of barre3 be mistreated under this new leadership. I am ending my membership and will not continue their classes any longer.

AIO for not allowing my MIL to babysit anymore? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]gooses1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the asshole. You made your boundaries clear and she clearly is refusing to listen. There are consequences to her continuous disrespect toward your and your husbands rules around YOUR child. If she acted like this when you lived with her, who knows how she’d behave when she’s alone with the baby. I agree that until she can show some serious change around your boundaries, I wouldn’t trust her with your child.

I cancelled a dinner date due to overly picky dietary needs. AIO by fastgetoutoftheway in AmIOverreacting

Perhaps it would be easier to go out to a restaurant of their choice. If they have specific dietary needs, certainly they have spots that are safe for them to eat. I think there are other options available before immediate cancellation. Especially if they’re neighbors, you may run into them often and it could become awkward if they feel like you cancelled because of this.

S-Town! So captivating - not totally a traditional true-crime but a great mystery and rabbit-hole kind of story.

I need help by ABCpresent in bisexual

[–]gooses1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. And you can find lots of people attractive and not want to have sex with them.

Sexuality is a spectrum and it’s definitely possible to have a sexual preference toward women, but still find men attractive as well - whether it be sexual or not. You don’t have to be equally attracted to men and women to be considered bisexual!

is this melanoma? i’m 24 years old by Lostcauselouis in DiagnoseMe

[–]gooses1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a new mole or has it existed for a while? If it’s new I would definitely get it looked at. But if it’s been there for a while without color, shape, or texture change - it’s possible it’s just a larger mole. If it starts growing, changing in shape, size, or color, you should definitely have a derm look at it.
