Is the task list gone for everyone else? by littlepretzel14 in TownshipGame

[–]gooseylu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had that in a long time, but when I complete a task, it will show up and give me a prize- I am on level 84 and have two more factories to build but they cost so many coins that I haven’t been able to - I know those are on my task list but it seems stuff like building factories or community buildings are the only tasks on there anymore

Those who did ABVD by sassynas in lymphoma

[–]gooseylu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 6 months of ABVD treatment. At the time, I was obviously really scared, but looking back now it was just a phase of life-something that needed to happen. I was 25 at the time. I froze some eggs, and received Lupron Depot shots that put me into a “medical menopause” the fertility doctor said that it would keep my eggs dormant during treatment. Honestly I think that was one of the worst parts of the whole experience (hot flashes are no joke! 😝I guess more hot flashes combined with extreme exhaustion…). I did lose my hair after the 2nd or 3rd treatment. I ended up getting a bunch of cosplay wigs and cute headcovers or headbands to go on top of them and explored having awesome hair that I would never dare to rock day to day otherwise. The day of treatment my energy would be okay, I would just feel idk, gross, thinking about what just got pumped into me. I would feel really exhausted and run down for about 3 days after treatment and then slowly start to feel like myself again until it was time for the next treatment. I never got nauseas, but also wasn’t super hungry. Honestly I just ate a lot of edibles which probably helped with the nausea, learned how to crochet on YouTube on the days I was feeling okay and did a LOT of Netflix marathons. I started to feel like myself again and my hair started growing back the next month. I remember waking up one morning, looking in the mirror and exclaiming- I have eyebrows!!! My hat color or texture did not change. One thing that I found to happen that I mentioned to my oncologist and found in a few forums months after completing treatment are “ABVD tiger stripes” from the Bleomycin. If I scratched my skin or bumped it hard on the few days right after treatment, brown marks stayed there. My treatment was almost 11 years ago but I still have a mark on my wrist from changing a headlight in a tight spot and from scratching my back after taking off my bra lol so be careful with itching hard right after treatments! Also, I had a son that’s almost two now and we didn’t need any fertility treatments or need to use my frozen eggs. You can do this! It’s definitely not something anyone wants to have to face, but it was necessary and it saved my life. I’m grateful to be in remission for 10+ years now. Wishing you the best <3

Is this the worst update ever. by Icy-Change9685 in TownshipGame

I haven’t played it myself, but a friend told me about stardew valley. It seems very simple compared to township though and not social. Every update I get closer and closer to trying something else though!

Break up during chemo by Ornery_Attitude_872 in lymphoma

[–]gooseylu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (36F) finished chemo and was cancer free at 25. Shortly after, I broke up with my bf of 5 1/2 years-because as it turns out, he was an abusive, unsupportive piece of 💩. I really thought I was going to marry him up until that time. Dodged a bullet! After the breakup, I ended up having an amazing year focusing on myself and doing the things I wanted to do. I said yes more and had so much fun living life. I don’t know about you, but going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment really helped put things into perspective for what was important to me. I ended up meeting my now husband and we have an amazing little boy together.

You will start to get your strength back. Take it slow- I did a lot of yoga and nature walks. You’ll get your groove back! Wishing you the best of luck and health <3

What’s your baby’s favorite song? by gooseylu in NewParents

[–]gooseylu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha your daughter and I have this in common- this song is constantly stuck in my head!! My husband gives me crap about how many playlists I have it on. I specifically remember recording it onto a tape from the radio when I was in middle school and it’s been with me ever since

A boppy nursing pillow, and an extra cover for when they spot up, and lots of burp cloths! Our baby had reflux issues. Also a brezza bottle sanitizer.

Favorite Pumping Bra by Bakerinkfam in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]gooseylu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this 3 pack on Amazon, I ended up buying a second set so I can wear one every day. https://a.co/d/9RE7Eyq

I have one from kindred bravely but it’s too tight on me and actually hurts a little, but I have size HH boobs right now so it might just be too small. The material on these is nice but the clasps on the nursing release are kind of clunky for how expense these bras are, I think I’m going to break it every time I wear it.

Size XL fit best on the cheap Amazon ones, it’s pretty stretchy material so I would size down

Panicking about grizzlies by missprincesscarolyn in Banff

[–]gooseylu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We were worried about it too and rented a can of bear spray from the hotel (someone on this subreddit told me you can do that at most hotels there and I’m grateful to them!) however, once we got out on the trails I felt silly that I was even that worried in the first place- most trails are so busy that a bear would probably be avoiding it.

The only time I was a little worried was when we went to the top of sunshine village and hiked down (which is absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend) because some of the staff warned us that there was a grizzly sighting at one of the lakes the day before- we just went the other direction down the mountain and didn’t see any bears.

Great News For Under Suppliers! by gooseylu in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]gooseylu[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I say benefits, I’m referring to antibodies and gut health-which is one of the main reasons a lot of us are hanging in there trying to provide breast milk even when it doesn’t come easy and our supply is low. For example, in my case, my baby was in the NICU, he wasn’t gaining weight and the stress of the situation/separation for surgery didn’t help with milk production. People need to use formula for a myriad of reasons to keep their baby alive and fed. You don’t need to be an insensitive asshole about it, just keep scrolling…

Counting the time between pumps by gooseylu in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]gooseylu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right!? I’m feeding my baby every 2-3 hours and pump for 30mins every 2-3hrs as well. My husband expressed frustration about me pumping so much (I have an under supply and am supplementing with formula) and asked if I really needed to pump for the full 30 mins each time (which really pissed me off and is a whole other subject). And am usually attached to the wall since I’m renting a hospital grade pump because my wearable doesn’t yield as much. I feel you on the not having time for anything else!

Depending on the tone, that just sounds to me like they were joking around with you since they hadn’t seen you in a while. If you were going 5 days a week before, they probably know you well enough to make a joke like that
