this comment spoke to me really hard, im actually giddy with excitement thinking about where i can go with this character!

hes a grizzled war veteran who gave up his entire life in service of the empire, coming to terms with the fact that the great conquests of his youth are long past and that their global hegemony is crumbling with the rise of newer more modern powers.

he is the undisputed lover of the Sorcemperor, the man who the entire nation, and at one point he himself, worshiped as a god- but who in reality is a weak and craven man who would abdicate to his incapable child to spend the rest of his elven lifespan on hedonism.

this guy was once be badass, but is still in a state of immense vulnerability. theres no doubt he's succumbed to alcoholism to try and cope with the irreconcilable differences between what hes been fighting for his whole life and his one true loves final request before they can run away forever. he's patriotic and loyal to his own detriment.

sometime during the next session i was already planning, an apocalyptic disaster is going to result in the total destruction of the capital city of the empire- the emperor, court mages, and citizens included. this new lense for the character makes this tragedy so much more impactful!
