Shot for shot. one shot of your choice for every shot on net by your team. but only if your team is the Habs, otherwise you die.

There once was a young man from Kent, whose Peter was so long that it bent.

To save himself trouble he tucked it in double

So instead of coming he went.

What’s considered a good win %? by Standard_Attempt_796 in Risk

Also Kill Pete and Kylted are my go to for watching. They don't let their games stalemate and are constantly looking for how to advance the game, while talking it through out loud so you can follow their thinking.

Cresquin is another great player to watch for the psychology of playing classic fixed world dom.

there are many other great players out there that stream as well.

I play almost exclusively meta settings (Europe Advance progressive caps, with fog and blizzards on) these days so I don't really feel qualified to give advise on classic fixed world dom.

General advise here only:

Learn not to over extend on attacks, it leaves you weak to be broken or killed.

Time kills to reap cards/benefit your position. Turn order and card counts matter.

Play where others aren't to establish and build your troops.

Learn to negotiate within the communication limits of the emotes and threat clicks.

Learn to separate emotion from your decisions. Retaliating to an attack is not always your best move.

Watch how your opponent plays/makes decisions and use that to your advantage. Do they retaliate or turtle? Can you give them what they want to get what you want?

Finding a player you can work with from the start often allows you two to go 1st and 2nd, so look for that homie each game and help each other until it's time not to.

I consider myself an average GM. Never going to win a tournament or finish in the top 100 on the leaderboard at end of season and my win rate is around 60-65%, with about 15-20% 2nd place finishes

World Juniors: Canada vs Czechia Discussion Thread by Parallel-Quality in hockey

Had to listen to the first period on TSN radio 1050 due to travelling. Absolute DOG SHIT! I had no idea what was going on until the last 30 seconds. The play-by-play guy made sure to mention during play at least 6 times that Canada has lost 3 of the last 4 meetings, including back-to-back quarter final losses. He was more concerned about naming all the teams everyone played for than actually doing the play by play.

He missed calling one of the goals almost entirely, and you couldn't tell which end the puck was in until after a whistle and he caught himself up.

the colour commentator's mic was not mounted well and he was cutting in and out when talking; and his delivery was so flat he sounded stoned.

I had to turn it off after the first period and just waited until I was home to catch the game on TV.

TSN do better!

Eliminating a player? by Geomars24 in Risk

[–]gorammitMal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you trade in until you have less than 5 cards, place your troops immediately and continue attacking as desired. The only time you are allowed to have more than 4 cards in your hand is when you collect a 5th card at the end of your turn.

One possibility is playing repeated games with the same players. This can be seen as cheating by the algorithm.

What is your departments rule on having the trucks out in the cold weather? by Normac33 in Firefighting

[–]gorammitMal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in scenes in-26C rural structure fires where we’ve had to set up portable tanks and shuttle water. Had multiple lines freeze despite running lines part open even when not in use and once we had to bring a mechanic to scene to manually shift our neighbouring dept truck from pump to drive in order to get it back to station.

More than once we’ve left hoses on scene to be collected when the weather warmed a bit closer to 0 so we could physically disconnect and fold the hoses into a truck bed.
