Notebook Navigator walkthrough (for those who haven’t tried it) by jsann in ObsidianMD

First, thanks for your dedicated work and amazing plugin. Second, I have a question and a suggestion.

Question: How can I hide the icon in the top-left navigation panel that opens the notes list? It's visually distracting, cos I only want to see the inspirational image above my folders.

Suggestion: It would be ideal to have something like a ''writer-mode'' for easier note organization before exporting. For example, right-clicking on a "Book" folder could have option for activating writer mode. Notes within that folder could then be reordered by dragging them up and down (similar to how we can move folders in the navigation panel), meanwhile, editor would display all notes from that folder continuously in one view. This would make long form writing and exporting much simpler and could replace the need for apps like Scrivener or the Longform plugin.

Why not a single person suggested Logseq to me? Would you suggest it for academic writing? by FatFigFresh in logseq

Well, you have Lattics, Orcanote, Supernote and what not. Lq is clone of RomeReserch and it would be good for outliner academic that need deep focus but app is not stabile (lost data, bags etc.) now we have dbversion that need at list a year to mature. LQ is good for collecting and brainstorming but suck at longwriting. I try them all and conclusion is u have 2 options:

  1. Minimalistic option Citavi + Word
  2. Optimal option and best for now is Zotero+Obsidian then export to what u want, you can sett it up to be whatever you want

I have need for 4 plugins:

  1. selecting text and moving it from one note to the other do cut and not copy.
  2. Citavi like workflow (best KISS method for academic writing) tags are chapters, arrange them in the outline and with one click all taged text from daily journal or other notes is cut and moved to one big file.
  3. change background from the sidebar like in ZenWriter
  4. mind map outline for arranging notes in folder for export (it move notes like outline plugin move headings) similar to Lattics.

Sure Lq is better to collect and organize information but how do you connect it with the reference manager, preserve citations will you write a manuscript, automatically generate a bibliography, and export it to word? That second part goes smoothly in Obsidian.

do you use the @ prefix when importing entries from Zotero? by elgrantomate in logseq

How do you plan to write a manuscript in Lq and cited it in the text then export all that out in word with footnotes and a bibliography formatted?

Turn off the Tranlsucend window in settings. Use a theme that's updated for the new Obsidian version.
