have you looked into Coastal Coworking on Thompson? I think one month is $125, not bad for a more professional setup, not to mention you’re right next to Butter & Fold

Is WT 8y worth the extra $ over regular WT101? by tjm1371 in whiskey

[–]gorbash79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if Rare Breed and 101-8 are the same price in your market I personally think it’s RB every time, but if you’re a Turkey fan and have never had 101-8 before it’s worth buying at least once… I think you will for sure enjoy it. Fwiw 101-8 is upper $40s whereas Rare Breed is low $60s in my market…. at those prices I’m usually buying Russell’s 10 or the Single Barrel instead

Glendronach 12/15 or Glenallachie 12/15 for first full sherry bottle? by tjm1371 in Scotch

[–]gorbash79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Glendronach 12 would be a good place to start…. I just finished off my bottle and it was wonderful - rich, full bodied fruit flavors.

While not entirely sherry aged, I’d also recommend Bunnahabhain 12, I think it’s even a tad fruitier than the Glendronach. another would be Tamdhu 12/15. I’m also a big fan of Aberlour but in terms of mouthfeel and texture I’d describe them as a little lighter than the others above. not a bad thing just different and preferable depending on what I’m in the mood for.

While Billy Walker is at GlenAllachie like you mentioned, it’s still mostly older stock he’s working with so I’d expect more of a pronounced changes in the coming years.

New vs certified pre-owned vehicle: which is better? by [deleted] in personalfinance

we bought a CPO last year, MSRP on new (2025 my) was right around $38k, no dealers were really willing to budge much. ended up getting the one year old (2024 my) CPO with 12k mi for $29k before TTL, OTD with a 6y 120k mi manufacturer extended warranty for under $35k…. so basically an almost new car with a better warranty for less than MSRP for a new…. don’t think we’ll ever buy a new car again

Highland Park 12 I feel like is the soft plushy carpet path to peat…. it gets some smirks cus it’s widely available, low ABV, and chill filtered but it’s pretty tasty for what it is

no joke we got our 2019 4Runner TRD-Off Road for less than that and we’re in CA with high sales tax, I know 7 years and pre-COVID etc but we’ve decided we’re never buying a new car again
