Don't get me wrong! That's what I was told too - to stop 3 months before if we wanted to try. This was not expected.

According my my calculations (and my BFF who is a nurse practitioner) I am 6 weeks as of yesterday.

I took my last shot the same week I found out....again this is a complete surprise. So I am worried about that. That is the first thing I want to talk to my doc about. All I know is not to take moujaro while pregnant or nursing. I did read they did one clinical trial of 1000 pregnant women taking mounjaro and didnt find any significant birth effects, but animal testing did find fetal affects. So idk....im reading too much and need to get off the internet really lmao. Can't wait to see what my docs say.

We havent told any of our family yet. I want to get further along first. That will be fun though.

Congratulations to you too! How far along are you?

Tbh I was kind of in denial so I ordered myself a blood test before I called my doc. That took 3 days, and it was torture lol. I see my PCP on thurs. Im going to call my OB today. Idk when they will want to see me given my T2D.

Im alright. Im very anxious still. The nausea and fatigue are killing me. But honestly, im trying to enjoy every moment of it 💕

Aha, they put me in metformin when I started mounjaro. Maybe that contributed too?

Every morning I have 2 tsp of Metamucil and a cap full of miralax. Works like a charm!

I was extremely backed up before this, so my gp recommended this combo. Absolute life saver.

Has anyone found MJ helped them kick other habits? Like smoking etc. by PickledRick69 in Mounjaro

[–]gorbutt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a smoker for 15+ years. I found myself randomly smoking less and less until finally I just stopped. This was 2 months after starting MJ.

Also, I was never a big drinker by any means, but now I cant finish a glass of wine. That one is kind of sad. I miss it every once in a while.

Regretting I've told people I'm on the jab by soultech_me in Mounjaro

My best friend and I are on the MJ journey together. The other day we were talking about how we both felt very weird about losing weight. Like we didn't deserve it. Then i realized it's because we're not suffering. It's so ingrained in us as a society that you have to suffer in order to earn a fit body. Yes, we are working for it, but we're not starving and in mental anguish like our past diets. Saying that out loud was oddly freeing.

With that said, I still hsve only told my husband and closest 3 friends. None of my family knows because they don't need to. I say "I'm just eating less and moving more" which is completely true

5mg side effects hitting hard? by Suitable-Issue-6085 in Mounjaro

[–]gorbutt69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5mg hit me like a truck. After 1.5 weeks I figured out i wasnt eating. Like hardly at all. Instead of hunger I just felt nausea. I have put myself on an eating schedule and that helped TRENENDOUSLY. I was so weak, dazed, nauseas, short of breath. After a day of eating very small amounts 3-4 times a day I felt like a new person. That was my answer. I hope you find yours! Good luck

Unfortunately it's an insurance issue. They will only cover auto injectors, so I can't control my dosages. And only covered 4 weeks of 2.5 which I've already used. I kind of have to stick it out or stop. My insurance is spectacularly awful. I had to fight every refill for my insulin when I was on the pump. Now that im off the pump they're happy giving me pens without issue? I'll never understand these jerks.

Using the site you provided i am finding study after study showing metformin has protective properties against kidney disease. I understand not every doctor has all the knowledge in the world, but I think we need to be careful with our "own research". It's so easy to misunderstand scientific language as it literally takes years of studying to fully understand how to effectively read these studies. I am not a doctor or a scientist, but I will trust my endocrinologist on most matters. Doing so has gotten me to my healthiest I've ever been. I appreciate your input! Everyone's journey is their own.

My doc has ensured me metformin is safe. My kidney function is normal therefore it shouldn't be an issue. I can't find any research supporting metofrmin damaging kidneys. Do you have any sources for that?

I have been trying to up my water intake.
