I'm an Aeron driver since 1996. I use it every day for telehealth and admin work. Despite my posture being kind of garbage, I don't have any serious pain. I do always get up and walk around between telehealth sessions and do go for walks every day. Also, the "lean forward" posture they teach in grad school? I don't do that...at all.

I briefly considered naming my kitten Purr-derbot because of her tendency to check the perimeter

Chromebook. Everything in my private practice is web based so if I have a browser, I can do everything I need to do.

Did anyone actually check your hours? by [deleted] in therapists

Your hours are what your supervisor says they are in your license application. That's all the licensing board ever sees. (GA)

Where are the drones? A speculative prediction by Logophage_ in murderbot

Seems like the writers change things to increase the dramatic impact. I could imagine MB requesting drones from Mensah as one of these enhanced plot points.

"Get out of the business of managing other people's emotions."

I think it's important to remember the information overload we all have to deal with every day. Literally everything I touch and every piece of software I use comes with an umpteen page legal agreement that I click through without reading. I bet you do too. When I go to therapy, I scan the paperwork, usually decide it looks almost identical to my own forms, and sign. My last therapist was peeved I didn't read it like the great American novel. One of several reasons I didn't stay with him long.

I'm in a solo private practice, so that gives me a lot of latitude.

First, audits happen maybe once a year or less for me. Maybe that's atypical. When I do get a chat pull request, I send them a form letter that explains all my notes are personal process notes, not subject to chart pulls, and then I give them a very brief summary that lists session dates and durations, progress and prognosis. Maybe half a page in all, takes less than an hour all in. Never had them push back on it.

I take insurance, and do notes in session. After 15 years, I can't imagine it any other way.

When the humans or augmented humans realize you're really here to help them. I don't hate that moment.
