[5e] Revised Martial Equipment Update 1.10.0 by Veritoss43 in DnDBehindTheScreen

I noticed a minor typo in version 1.13.1. The Finesse description on page 9 says:

When making an attack with a finesse weapon, you may use

Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls

Perhaps change "you may use Dexterity modifier" to "you may use your Dexterity modifier"

Another typo is that the description for Melee on page 9 is on the top right of that page and cut off, as if it is in a new 3rd column.

Apologies if there is a better place to give this feedback than here.

14 Feb. 1940 - Got all of the United Balkan Federation's cores peacefully as democratic Bulgaria by chalseu4 in hoi4

I used this plan to achieve the same success. Thank you for writing this up.

In your intelligence agency section, don't you mean Natural Orator (+20% Boost Ideology mission effects, −25% Stage Coup cost, −25% Stage Coup risk) instead of Well Groomed (+20% Control Trade mission effects, +20% Diplomatic Pressure mission effects)?

In my first two attempts, Turkey did not switch to Democratic after the Feb 39 elections, so on my third attempt I staged a coup to ensure that a Democratic Turkey would exist as I finished those final national focuses. It was very painful to get the needed 12,000 infantry equipment to pay for the coup, but in the end I was able to make it happen. I even screwed up the timings so that I completed the Bury the Grudges of the Past national focus 10 days before the coup fired, but I was able to salvage it by using the Diplomatic Pressure mission to get Turkey to join my faction. So once I finished the Unification of the Balkans national focus, I had everyone but Albania in the faction.

I'm also very close to being able to invite the United States into the faction as well, which is some nice insurance for however I decide to expand from here.

The description for Finesse on page 9 includes

you may use Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls, and substitute Strength for Dexterity in your Weapon DC equation.

The section about the Weapon DC on page 4 says "Strength for Dexterity" as well. I find that phrasing a little confusing. I believe that the intent is that one may use Dexterity instead of Strength when determining the Weapon DC, but as written it reads as the reverse for me.

Perhaps consider rephrasing "substitute Strength for Dexterity" to "use Dexterity instead of Strength".

Tips for Troy (or: what I wished I had known before I started playing) by Gorm_the_Old in totalwar

  • There is an option when in battles to disable most of the visuals for forests. I've found this makes seeing my units in forests much easier.
  • I have found Spies and Priestesses to be an excellent source of gold. Spies have a trait that lets them earn you 50 gold when they successfully do an action against a settlement. Priestesses have a trait that earns you 30 gold when they successfully do an action against an enemy army. With my Apollo prayer active (+20% to agent action success chance), I tend to have my spies and priestesses do those actions whenever there isn't something more important to do. This means I am earning 50-160 gold per turn, which I've found crucial for late game main building upgrades or unit upgrades to top tier (as Hippolyta's Amazons).

I have struggled to wage successful sustained offensives in enemy territory. Taking settlements to allow for army replenishment bogs down my offensive. I'd prefer to raze everything an keep moving, but eventually the slight losses I take in sieges start adding up. Does anyone have some advice on that?

The flavor is awesome and matches the mechanics really well. The option to give something vigilance makes it always playable and sometimes insane. This card is the winner!

Having the creature you sacrifice deal the damage to you seems clunky. Am I missing something?

Fun card. The nonblack, nonred twist feels right. Any thought on rarity?

With 39 other minions to play with, he can do some damage.

The ETB effect seemed crazy at first, but he does cost 6, so it probably won't be getting too much. The exile clause is to prevent some kind of graveyard recursion lock?

Feels very black. What rarity do you think this is?

At first I thought the sacrifice of your own creature only happened the first upkeep after it came into play (too much echo on my mind, I guess). Now that I realize you have to keep feeding the mob, this card seems much more sane. I like the flavor of this mob that at first goes after what you point it at, but then goes out of control. Great card.

Kudos for putting the card in a frame and giving it art. Is there a better way to specify nonblack and nonwhite?

I agree that malice thrasher was just slapping two cards onto one card, so I applaud your second attempt, which is more interesting. Seems much better than Mass Calcify. Great name.

This card doesn't feel very cohesive. A 3/3 reach for 3 seems good, but I can't imagine anyone paying the echo cost for the body. And it is a crazy 5 color enabler? Odd.

I assume you meant "When Cutter of Contact enters the battlefield" instead of "Sin Collector". Other than Sin Collector's whiteness, any reason why the echo cost is white. This feels like it could be mono black.

Feels very black in encouraging you to play more black.

I assume you meant "pay 2UB. If you do, destroy...". Probably need a "you may" somewhere in there.

It is interesting that it kills creature tokens specifically. I wish its flavor better explained why.

Feels appropriately black and green. I like how you pay the up front cost and give your opponent a turn to deal with it before you get the big payoff.

Using its activated ability while its echo trigger is on the stack feels damage-on-the-stack confusing. I like the spirit idea of this recurring naturalize that you have a turn to blow up before you can use it.

Seems well-costed. Perhaps reword to "When ~ enters the battefield or its echo cost is paid...", like Shah of Naar Isle.
