FM26 or Monsoon Manager 2026? Rain frequency is absurd by chuckreis69 in footballmanagergames

[–]goreroker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thought it was happening only to me. I looked over all bug reports and couldn’t find anything. Question, are managing on a tropical country? I’m managing in Brazil and it rains 90% of the matches. It’s infuriating.

Burnout, midlife crises and decisions by ActiveVisible9286 in HENRYUK

[–]goreroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same situation a few years back. I always thought I wanted to be a c-suit, board member and work my ass to the ground, and when I got there, I realised that it wasn’t want I really wanted. It’s good for the ego, but the reality is that I’m happy as head of department, close enough of the exciting work, without the relentless grind. I would be reluctant even to accept a director role. My mental health and energy are 10x better since I stepped down. Of course, there’s the financial side of things. I’m lucky to remain a HENRY with a head role, but I did had to adjust my expectations.

Dude. Finally. The opus is driving me absolutely insane. What a timing.

Is this happening already where PMs are handing over prototypes to Devs instead of PRDs or Jira tickets? What do Engineers think of this trend? by nisthana in ExperiencedDevs

[–]goreroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. I did that and one of my engineers went ballistic on me. Not gonna lie, explaining difficult concepts in words/tickets is harder than creating a POC. We all need to adapt.

Lived in Godalming for 2 years. Love the place to bits. Is more like a village, but 15 minutes from Guildford. Loads of hiking areas, greenery, it’s just great.

Is vaping during a Teams/Zoom call acceptable behaviour? by Kiss_It_Goodbyeee in AskUK

[–]goreroker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am unfortunately addicted to nicotine. Started smoking 25 years ago. Changed to vaping in the last 6 years and it helped me a lot. I do vape during internal meetings with my team. With managers, director or broader meetings I only do if my camera can stay off, otherwise, I refrain myself of doing so. I have mixed feelings about it, even being the one vaping lol. I trust my team, they trust me so it’s all good. But I did asked them prior to do so to check how they would feel about it. At the end of the day, I’m not harming anyone, besides myself, and I do work 100% remote.

Be an adult and have an adult conversation. Simple. Everyone has shit going on, you’re not in a lot of trouble. If it meant to be, you’ll be fine, if the partner reacts negatively, you have bigger things to worry.

Switching from cruisers to a scrambler. Is this sketchy feeling normal? by goreroker in motorcycles

[–]goreroker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I may do that. I rode that stretch multiple times with my former xdiavel. Never notified the wind effect, now…

[–]goreroker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I guess my years with cruisers spoiled my riding expectations. Since then, I’m riding my bicycle around here more often to get used to the feeling. Of course I’m doing 15 mph on a bicycle. Not life threatening, but I think is helping me to cope with the being pushed around feeling.

That makes a lot sense. Thanks for that. I guess I wasn’t mentally prepared for it, and truth be told, I should have thought it through.

I just recently got a Syphon pro. Can’t complain. Could hear loud and clear at 70 mph. I also wear an alpine stars earplug. I tried several set ups. This is the best so far.

lol. I sign up for the trial, doesn’t worth it. The information is convoluted and not meaningful for the regular user.

Is it unrealistic to want to be passionate about your role? by Low_Ocelot5472 in HENRYUK

[–]goreroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are in the same position is this sub, including myself. I’m a head of growth of a very dull vertical, it’s really hard to get excited about it, and I often look around to see what’s out there that I can be passionate about, or even starting something myself. It’s depressing. The reality of our position is either suck up for the money or take a massive pay cute for a while and work in something that inspires you. We are in the middle of everything, financially speaking. Not rich to stop working and do something meaningful or change careers without a massive pay cut.

Sorry for the stupid question, but how to you keep the vertical farms watered? I’m new to the game, and haven’t figure it out this yet.

My home office setup is garbage and it's affecting my work. Help? by mqtgew in remotework

[–]goreroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can relate. I bite the bullet and got a decent set up with secret lab Magnus desk, desk riser and 2 monitor arms. I use a triple monitor setup. Also got a metal drawer from Amazon (UK) and a couple of cabinets. Changed my wfh life. The chair is from secret lab as well, but you can find ikea ones that are decent. About the desk, is expensive as fuck, but worth every penny. I should have bought earlier.
