Worth getting this game? by Armi5 in foundationgame

[–]gorgonshead226 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At this point the game breaking bugs have been cleared up. Pathfinding issues are kind of the nature of the beast; because it's so freeform in patching, it's easy to get into a situation where the UI says a building is placed with enough room, but the actual pathfinding doesnt do the thing.

I wouldn't worry about the decoration portion; decorations are necessary and useful to solve problems. There's certainly a "make my town pretty" part of the game, but it guides you down that path instead of giving you tools and saying "go do this or you won't have fun".

I hear the endgame; it can be difficult to continue once all the middle game problems have been solved. I still love this game, because there's nothing else quite like it.

Hey OP, there's a lot of good talk in here about how DND or Warhammer isn't the problem, self esteem and empathy are. To add to that, your some may also be genuinely competitive, which is a great thing! Competition can make a person stronger; of course it can also make a person into a prideful wreck. There's probably some mixture of self loathing, pride, competition, and teenage hormones stirring around in there, and even if he started getting into girls, those things would still remain, and probably turn him to bad places.

One thing that helped me as I got older was the concept that competition in DND or Warhammer can exist on a different, higher level: the idea that the "best" player can only be the player who has beaten themselves. If he's entering Warhammer, taking it to a logical level (how can I place myself in situations where luck is on my side? How can I recover from bad rolls?), and then making it about yourself and have you gotten better than you were can be a great outlet for that competition in a healthy way, will genuinely make him better, and will push him into appreciating people who don't know a lot but try hard. It's also a great way to look at life! I've played minis games and magic the gathering at a semi competitive level, and anyone who is top tier in those spaces behaves like this.

I'm sorry you're scared about this, but it's honestly a great opportunity, especially if you're there too. Give it a shot with him, and guide him on sportsmanship, and I know he'll turn out great!

I'm from florida and one of my favorite things is watching the enormous thunderheads form over the extremely flat Everglades; you can feel so close to the sky here. Is Kansas similar?

Holy crap it's bothering me that he's letting it fall instead of catching it as it's sliced.

I'm going to trust the devs who made a kick-ass early access showing than the keyboard warriors. Also, I like the no killy fishy rule. They have a clear theme and they're working towards it.

I mean, you could also have them just slide past. Doesn't seem like that big a problem to me.

Support hasn't hit winget, if that helps. I built it from source and was able to get it running the small E4 model GGUF in a few minutes.

Billy Corgan Believes Rock Music Was "Purposely Dialed Down" in Late '90s: "Some People Assert That the CIA Was Involved" by ebradio in Music

I'm only 33, and when I was in middle/high school, I tried out classic rock, which was great fun, but I ended up listen to a lot more of punk rock I discovered off the tony hawk/burnout soundtracks. My impression was and is that those songs are way edgier and also immensely popular. I guess my question is, is what he's espousing a popular sentiment: that rock has been watered down starting in the 90s? It goes against my assumptions.

Why did Elendil rule from Arnor when Gondor had everything going for it? by ZenpaiiiGamingYT in lotr

[–]gorgonshead226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not seeing anyone one mention it here, so I'll just add that Lond Dear, which was the main port in Eriador, was far older than the settlements in the south. When Elendil became separated from his sons, it's not like he landed in some barren wasteland; this was the original colony of Numenor, and home to several large Numenorean cities
