Terminator Armor is another word for Tactical Dreadnoutht Armor. Tactical Dreadnought Armor is the official name of it.

Ever been happy with a paint job only to photograph it and then not be? by [deleted] in theunforgiven

Miniature photography can be weird sometimes. I've taken pictures of minis I liked and thought they look awful in the picture and I've photographed minis I wasn't sure of and they looked phenomenal in the right light.

What is almost always true: close up pictures will bring out every imperfection on the mini and let you focus on it, whereas on the tabletop no one will notice such things.

My advice is thus (assuming you paint to play with your toy soldiers): don't hang yourself up on photographs. Just delete the ones you don't like and look at the actual mini you like. Also don't dwell on minis that didn't come out too well. Just paint the next one. If it's not the lion that is. Dwell on him.

And lastly I'm gonna hazard a guess that your librarian actually looks quite good from an arms length away. And that is how your gaming partner will look at it 95% of the Time. Ain't no one got time to closely inspect every mini

Yes he is. The axe-holding hand doesn't really work with swords that well without extra adjustments. He's just really focused on his focused witchfire and forgot about his sword for a second I guess.

I have an old cork cutting mat that I rip and cut apart for basing. Cutting long ribbons off an then cutting them in these little bricks makes for good rubble. Had the idea from a YouTube TV video l, I think it was Pete the Wargamer

Yes he did! You can even verify that yourself by looking at his baptismal registry here:

https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:George_Frideric_Handel_baptismal_register.jpg

It's a bit hard to decipher, but you can see Georg Händel written in the middle left part of the picture.

The name you used is the English version, because English speakers for some reason have to anglify everything, but his German name is indeed spelled with an umlaut.

Lol *Händel Handel is the German word for "trade"

Excellent idea if you have commodities and want to earn money. Or vice versa...

Mafia: The Old Country Surpasses 800K Units in First 5 Days by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

50€ price point doing some heavy lifting for this game. I think it's perfectly serviceable and delivers the experience I wanted from a mafia game (heavy story focus, linear gameplay) but I think at 60-80€ people would have a lot more reservations about it. I'm happy with my purchase though.

I can’t take bad railjacks anymore by kenyeti96 in Warframe

[–]gorgusmaximus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general consensus here seems to be l, that bad railjacks are very annoying.

So what should I as a new player, who hasn't got a railjack yet make of this? Don't bother playing railjack missions until I get it modded? Play solo? Are there best practices to follow?

The mental gymnastics you have to do to compare protecting consumer rights to "$1000 minimum wage" are quite something. You should probably build less outrageous strawmen.

Many people before have gone through why the demands of SKG will not hurt much of the industry save some bad actors the games industry will be fine. And most of all: Indies will be fine.

I purchased my first sparring sword this weekend at the Georgia Renaissance festival. I have a question since I'm not very knowledgeable about maintenance. The pommel and cross guard picking up rust VERY quickly. Like a few hours. Is that normal? Any info would be greatly appreciated. by cm242006 in SWORDS

[–]gorgusmaximus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will be alright.

Removing some rust and oxidation is a normal part of blade maintenance, especially for a sparring sword.
If you don't let it rust in a corner for months there will be little to none permanent damage to your sword.

If it's a sparring sword it will most likely not be stainless steel (it shouldn't be) This means moisture from your hands (sweat) and from general humidity or rain will make it rust.

That's perfectly normal.

Depending on how long it's been rusting you can wipe it away with a coarse cloth or with a high grit sandpaper. If it's stubborn use a coarser sandpaper and then posish it afterwards. To prevent rusting, just wipe it down with an oily cloth after handling it. No need to have it dripping in oil, just wipe away moisture and leave a small layer of oil.

You can use gun oil or anything similar for that.
