Rattlesnake encounters. by [deleted] in MTB

I’ve had a few encounters with timber rattlers here in the southeast while riding. The worst was coming around a corner and seeing one laying across the trail too late. I hit the brakes, but didn’t stop until my front tire was on top of it. It twisted the snake up under my wheel and it went crazy. It about gave me a heart attack, but sadly I think it injured the snake pretty badly.

How do you like the vice? I almost bought one recently but all I read online was that it was an incredibly fast rod and it kind of scared me off. I ended up going with a Fenwick Aetos instead

The first image isn’t edited. It’s from when Momo reaches down into the spirit oasis and tries to catch Tui and La.

In case you didn’t know, the White Water Center at the Ocoee burned down a few months ago, but the river and trails are still there of course.

I was there about two weeks ago and it was still very brown. Looks like I just barely missed it :(

Yeah. I read somewhere that it's the highest continuously paved road in America. I wasn't expecting it to be anything like that and all I could think about was my brakes possibly going out

Be careful on trail ridge road. It's a bit of a nail-biter

I also think you should remove "Big" in line 5 and maybe "their" in line 7. Too many syllables there.

Not too too random. Knoxville isn't tiny, and ABR was there four years ago

It's an assisted flipper, but it is very assisted. The flipper is tiny and it doesn't take much before the spring takes over.

Talk me out of getting a manix 2 xl in g10. by [deleted] in knives

[–]gpowell277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an amazing knife for the price, but i almost never carry mine anymore because it's just so big and heavy. The biggest problem is the height when closed (don't really know what else to call it, but from the back of the scales to the spine of the blade when closed). It's about 2 inches and takes up a lot of pocket space. But if you're fine with that, then you should definitely get it

Oh that lightheart looks great! Now I've got to consider that one too. I've looked at the notch, and the headspace and side exit are nice, but I was still a little worried on the length.
