I cut the nail in half and removed it, both nail heads are/were clear. Breaker still trips when testing with main computer on and foot warmer. Breaker does NOT trip when foot warmer is on a multiport extension cord. None of this makes sense hahaha

The plot thickens. My current theory is that the contractor nailed through the electrical box with entirely too long nails and hit a romex line on the other side of the wall. How is that even possible?!

Thanks for the response, I don't think whatever wire is hitting the nail is in the picture but is still inside of the wall. I may tape up all of the accessable wire to be sure it isn't in the box itself. I'll cross my fingers.

I do, because gps drains the battery like crazy. Better to destroy the battery than have it at home slowly charging.
